Just hope Kenny can maintain his health the whole season because it seems like that’s what’s been the issue the last couple years. It would be phenomenal if he pulled it off this year.

I will say though, both Webb and Osborne are really struggling with the starts.
Webb doesn’t seem to start riding fast until he is in traffic. Check his pass coming out from under the bridge last night. Osborne has exceptional bike control in traffic too. It is fun to watch both of them work through traffic.

I love how Webb smells blood when there's someone in front of him- the dude is the king of the late race passes. Never settles. Was it just me or did Joey clear the heck out of Cooper's line on that last lap?

I genuinely believe that if he hadn't had his accidents which led to his illness he would be one of the all time greats already. Of course coulda woulda shoulda, but he's displaying the same skill, speed, and consistency he has every other year but without being held back by illness/injury etc. I really hope he gets this title, he's earned it...
I feel like he is smoother and more in control now. That 2017 season (and the 2016 MEC) he seemed to be hanging it out way more than he does now.

No one believes more in Ken than Ken. Coming back from those injuries alone is amazing.

Definitely impressive. He should have at least 3 wins out of these 5 races. Actually I think he was the best guy at round 1 as well - just didn't want to risk the passes on Barcia.

Tomac looks good as well though. He was the fastest yesterday for several laps before he caught up to Barcia.

Speaking of round 1, remember when someone said he was playing the long game by not punting Barcia? It sure helped him last night. JB raced him hard but didn't do anything rough when Ken went by. He definitely put more mustard on the game with Eli late in the race.
Good point. Kenny has been more aggressive this year but still clean, fair and smart

Kenny has that burst speed he used on Eli ("schooled" him according to podium interview) and Barcia in the last two races. I remember in outdoor Nat'l's on Suzuki it didn't seem to matter where he started, he seemed to be in the lead at the end of the first lap. Whereas Eli is more of a grinder and builds speed later in the race.

I floated a theory a few races ago that Kenny still wasn't back physically. I was dead wrong. He has put the field on notice.

This is a good point. So far apart from Houston 2 Kenny has been by far and away the best starter of the top 4 in points. Plus, he is really good at sprinting early and making quick passes. With the current combo of track design (everyone doing the same thing) and depth of field it is imperative to get track position early. Tomac, for all his success and strengths, has yo-yo starts but equally he is also very guilty of coming around the first turn in 5-6th and ending up 9th-10th after a lap. He's always relied on his fitness and speed to overcome that, but maybe his advantages are lesser than they once were. Webb also in 2019, just seemed to nail starts no matter what. Right now, it's not happening for him.

Does he look any different than the beginning of the year last season? He looks great just like last year. If his health is sorted out hard to bet against him. Still to early to tell if he's gonna fade or not

Believe there has been some chatter that the riders next to the box can hear the pneumatic system that drops the gate...

I honestly think he couldn’t pick a quick line to save his life and has to be reading the guy in front of him.
Not very often he holeshots and gaps the field. He has the talent and determination to keep up with a Kenny or Tomac and then chin them on the last corner but that’s all he has in his locker.
Still he’s one of the fastest guys out there for sure.

I think you have to be really close to it. AJ Catanzaro talks about it in his Indy 1 video I think.

Maybe Ken had the bionic hearing upgrade during one of his many surgeries, a la Jaime Sommers

I guess being one or the few to win this season and not being out of the title hunt is chocking.
He a good start away from another win and I'm not much of a Webb fan.
Roczen is on a roll right now.

More than likely we’re going to see a first time Daddy win the chip this year. Isn’t that a stat?

I always tell my family to watch for Kenny's voodoo magic on lap 1. Dude can enter turn 1 in 8th, and by the time they go through two lanes, he's looking to pass the leader. Great racecraft for his laptime-focused style. Get out front and disappear!

I'm glad to see him doing well after all he's been thru. And he's good for the sport. Even though I'm an ET fan I can really appreciate KR.
