The pass back on ET was eye opening for sure.

As much as I dont want to admit it but Barcia is a real threat for this championship.

He was the fastest guy on the track when he was 4th and caught AC. He had the speed to fight for the W again, he just needs to start better than 10th or worse.

People are gonna crucify me....But its crazy how much more comfortable he looks on the gas gas. Seems like he may follow the same path as webb. New bike, better results.

I’m a believer. He’s not my favorite rider but he was reeling in the leaders before the tip over. Hopefully he stays on it and can be in the mix.

RIGHT ! Aluminum frame vs the chromoly frame must have made the difference.
What a season so far !

Barcia has been amazing this year. The speed and style he was showing was unreal. I think he was making up around a second a lap or so on the leaders when he was closing in on AC before he had the incident in the sand.

If he keeps starting well and stays on 2 wheels he can take this championship. What a wonderful thing that would be for this guy who for many years only occasionally saw the podium.

Damn he looked good before he went down in the sand.

He looks like has the old Barcia flair again

He just didn't gel with that Yam -- not saying the bike is bad, look at Paulin, Coldenhoff etc

He seemed to be learning the track and improving his speed lap after lap. Will be excited to see more champion level rides out of him.

Doing what he usually does. Starts on fire then steadily declines. Soon he'll be frustrated and running into every one around him. By rd 9 he will be blaming the bike. It's the same every year.

*Don't under estimate the impact of the race team behind him too (or the lacking in what the team brought last year).

Barcia is most definitely in the mix for the title this year. All he needs to do, is get decent starts and keep it on two wheels.

Barcia did good. He had a little bad luck in the sand, but is in it to win it.

I agree. I wouldn't bet on him. Last night he ran into a lapper in his heat then crashed in the main while trying to catch AC. Mental mistakes will cost him here and there although he has the speed.

We must remember that Bam Bam was pulling top 10s on a STOCK BLUE PIG for a hot minute. So that Gas Gas must feel like straddling a literal rocket.

Amazing to me what a short memory this crowd has. You realize hes done the exact same thing his whole450 career? But oh, he has a shiny new bike! And suddenly hes not the guy who takes everybody out and rides backwards?

Lol seriously. He runs right up Alex Ray's ass who is on a bright green Kawi taking the far outside line.

But on a more serious note, crashing and then getting up and passing Tomac back was a statement. I was not expecting that.

Very few people have been passed by ET while on the ground...then get up and pass ET back...in a short SX no-less!

Good morning sunshine!

Let’s see the data you are referring to that happens “every” year. Selective memory doesn’t count as facts

Pretty sure Barcia didn’t think A Ray on the bright green bike was going to fumble the simple corner like a novice

Barcia through three rounds -
2020: 1-2-9 (63 pts 2nd overall)
2021: 1-9-4 (59 pts, 3rd overall)

He is still behind where he was at this point last season, so we'll see.

Especially with the Houston tracks. Made passing as absolute nightmare.

He pulled away from Tomac, fell, got up, passed Tomac and pulled away again. You ever watch the races? Grinning

As far as the Aray incident, looked like the dude slowed to putt in 1st gear for no apparent reason in the corner, no one would anticipate that.

I'm fairly certain he would have got to AC had he not went down in the sand. He was putting in some really fast midway through the race.

He will be fast enough to run up front and hold positions as long as he continues to get good starts.

That’s an interesting stat. It’s pretty close to last year however to me the riding looks better and smoother (for Barcia) than last year. I feel the 4th last night was better than anything we saw last year he came from a ways back making passes then crashes then passes Tomac back. Pretty impressive

I'll tell you this, Barcia really likes how narrow the bike is around the radiators, he said it freaks him out a little how easy the bike is to throw around.

I think for the first time since his Honda days, he is really excited to race.

This is what it looks like to me too . Seems confident and hungry .
