What a season so far !
If he keeps starting well and stays on 2 wheels he can take this championship. What a wonderful thing that would be for this guy who for many years only occasionally saw the podium.
He just didn't gel with that Yam -- not saying the bike is bad, look at Paulin, Coldenhoff etc
Barcia is most definitely in the mix for the title this year. All he needs to do, is get decent starts and keep it on two wheels.
....would love to see Kenny or Marv win a title too.
I agree. I wouldn't bet on him. Last night he ran into a lapper in his heat then crashed in the main while trying to catch AC. Mental mistakes will cost him here and there although he has the speed.
Pit Row
But on a more serious note, crashing and then getting up and passing Tomac back was a statement. I was not expecting that.
Let’s see the data you are referring to that happens “every” year. Selective memory doesn’t count as facts
Pretty sure Barcia didn’t think A Ray on the bright green bike was going to fumble the simple corner like a novice
2020: 1-2-9 (63 pts 2nd overall)
2021: 1-9-4 (59 pts, 3rd overall)
He is still behind where he was at this point last season, so we'll see.
As far as the Aray incident, looked like the dude slowed to putt in 1st gear for no apparent reason in the corner, no one would anticipate that.
He will be fast enough to run up front and hold positions as long as he continues to get good starts.
I think for the first time since his Honda days, he is really excited to race.
