Last 2 years Barcia won the opener then didnt win again. Hasnt had a multiple win season since his rookie year in 2013. I say he does win again.. But I said that last year too.

Yes. He looked way too good. He gapped 3rd place by 20 seconds on a relatively easy track. Starts were great as well, he even won the practice start in qualifying

He has at least one more win in him. I don’t see him fighting for a championship, but I think he’s gonna be a threat even into outdoors

He looked great last night, for sure. He'll soon have an off night and revert to his usual ways of racing backwards and riding like a dick. Downvoting ignores his history.

Roczen seemed only one who matched his pace and maybe was even faster that him, if he gets a top3 start again then i think he can win again

Would love to see it happen. Break him out of his historic and self described "one hit wonder" mode.

bike vs bike. He looks WAY more comfy on the gas gas. I think this is gonna be a huge factor.

Yeah, I think Justin is happy now. He's on a team that actually wanted him...not one that threatened to cut him, and on a bike that he clearly feels more comfortable on. You can see it in his riding. I think he'll wind up on the top box several times this season.

Only guy to be undefeated at some point during each of the last three SX seasons.

Barcia and Roczen look like they are on another level compared to the rest of the field. The other guys will catch up, but with the quick turn arounds between races this week, those 2 could end up leaving Houston with a nice points lead going into Indy. I think Barcia wins again for sure, he looks way to good not too. But if/when Roczen gets up front I don't think Barcia is going with him.

I think he will. Sure he’s been a favorite for the opener but he rode different during this opener. I think that is the differentiator. He rode like THE guy.

Barcia is a better man. More mature, and wants it more than ever. If he can keep his head screwed on and take 2nds and 5ths etc, and contest for wins, his title chances are very good. He’s on one of the best bikes now.

He'll be blaming the bike by Rd 9. It's amazing how short people's memory is. He has literally done this for the past 2 years in a row.

There is absolutely nothing different about the start to this season than every other season. These guys are who they are.

I think his best chance to win again will be tomorrow. Him and KR are the only ones coming into Tuesday with confidence, while everyone else is probably scratching their heads and questioning bike setup.

Everyone seems to forget how inconsistent KR94 has been the last two years. I think this season, anyone who can keep themselves in the top 5 each week could win the championship. I do not see anyone pulling off a big string of wins in a row.

I hope he does. He looked great everywhere last night. He's made many comments about the YZ not catching grip and he hasn't had an issue with the Gas Gas so far. I kept a close eye on Plessinger and he was spinning the rear quite often on the slick and other places Barcia definitely wasn't. And from what I've seen Plessinger doesn't rev it out as hard as Bam Bam. I noticed it before the triple and the left after the straight, Plessinger had tons of wheel spin where others weren't.

Sure, why not? He didn't look as crazy and I couldn't tell if he was on the rev limiter like usuallydoez.. He said RD asked him to mellow out before H1 so he must have more in the tank.

People are saying 94 and 51 were out pacing the field. #16 was riding pretty good I think and it was the 1st round on a tight track. Still wide open and the field is stacked with everyone healthy. Has the makings for a entertaining season!!!!!!!!!! (And yes, #51 will win again this year)

Yeah. When you raced him as a amateur and have seen him and his dad sleeping in the back of a completely roached out truck riding clapped out bikes putting every last cent they have into this. you get where his heart on the track comes from.

Osborne isn't going to be on the ground in turn 1 every week either... Barcia and many others will win more mains this year.

Yup. Just what I thought when Webb started racing that KTM.

This to me is an easy yes, lot of folks forgetting the track conditions that played to his favor in the past openers. Rain made a difference in past wins and so many forget that. I was at H1 and he was faster all day than the rest, he is a different guy this year. I at least expect a lot from him. (Adam fan).
