Great show!!! But jeeezuz. Donnie won’t shut up!! GL isn’t that bad..... most of the time he’s a little talkative but most of the time GL has valuable input. You can tell Donnies even getting on Pings nerves. Lol. Mitch is a great interview!

I just finished this up. Donnie was definitely over the top with his interrupting, but I think he was just in full-on geek mode. Think about it, he's always talking about bikes and technical stuff, every show. Then Mitch is right there with him in studio, a guy who grew up in So Cal and has all of this in common with Donnie, and he's on Mt Rushmore of MX innovators. I just think Donnie could not help himself. I'll give him a pass.
Yeah, Donnie did get a bit OTT and as a result I think there was one time we lost Mitchs answer but he did ask a few interesting questions Ping wouldn’t have raised so I’ll let it slide too. It was different time of interruption as he didn’t swing it to the “all about me” that the hosts can be guilty of.

to each their own - but anyone asking for cliff notes should really give these kind of long form interview podcasts a listen! Personally; I listen to them in the car as well as through ear buds as I fall asleep at night. My kind of bed time story for sure..

Pretty much as awesome of a pod as I figured it would be.. Can't wait for Part II to drop (this week, I believe?)

Oh - if you haven't heard the Whiskey Throttle pod with Troy Lee and Mitch - click below and thank me later.. it jumps right to the good stuff (warning: gut bust laughter ahead)

Dude, his pinky story with you and the hissy fit with Pichon was 🤘

Full send dudes telling full send stories.

P.s. ignore what other saying about you, Donnie and GL actually having an involved conversation (the “interruptions”). It makes the show more raw and natural, which we frankly need nowadays. Keep up the great work!!!

I've listened to every episode and really enjoy the show but I've got to disagree about the interruptions. GL & Donnie continually cut off or talk over the guests mid sentence and it's annoying as hell.

Fantastic podcast. Mitch has sooooo many stories he could tell I feel like.

His theory on payouts is interesting and got me wondering.

I was a bit hesitant to listen after reading this thread, but once i got into it, I didn't think Donnie was too bad at all. Yes, he talked more than usual, but he was also filling in as co-host. I can't wait to get into part 2, especially to get Mitch's take on the GL/Bobby Bonds take out.

ETA: Nate, I thought the payout theory was pretty interesting, too. I think the toughest sell would be Honda and Suzuki (if they decide to come back). Both are run in the old school Japanese style of "this is the way we've always done it." It'd probably be easier to fly to the moon in a homemade rocket than to get an old school Japanese business man to change his ways.

That one of the best 'way-back-when" story podcasts I ever listened to. The story of Mitch being left in the back seat of Troy Lee's car when the cops showed made me laugh out loud!

I stopped listening to WTS as much due to GL spoiling all the questions with his own answers

But having read on here that he wasnt on the show and also really wanting to hear Mitch's story I tuned in and Im half way through, its like a different show,so so much better.

For once we get to hear what the guest has to say,it flows so much better which makes it easier to listen to.

Ping is so much better on his own and he even seems more relaxed, the producer jumps in a little but not too much

Sorry GL I think you are a great champ and racer and commentator, but on a podcast you are painful due to making the questions about you to be honest.

I would recommend this show to anyone now,Mitch has some great stories

Part one was really good. I said it a while back, but get Donnie up as a co-host full time, that guy knows his stuff.

I’ve always read quotes from guys who rode for Mitch in the past who said he was a tough guy to ride for...but he always comes off as very respectful & humble when I hear him interviewed.

Good stuff Ping! Looking forward to having GL back for part 2 with Mitch. Should be some good dialog between the two!

Also, would really like to get some in-depth discussion on the 2021 Supercross schedule. (6) SXs in 3 weeks to start the season is a game changer. They had a taste last year in Utah, but lessons learned and day to day schedule for the team and riders would be cool to hear from Mitch's perspective.

Great episode!!

I'm on my 2nd listen, great stuff. I'm not going to complain for the hours of free content whiskey throttles show provides.

I'm glad David is going through just about each year of the teams history. So much there!

Great podcast! I’ve listened to each show so far. GL does have a tendency to turn things around to be about him, but it’s not that big a deal. He still has his moments where I’m really glad he’s apart of the show. But if read this ping, please ask Mitch about Paul Carpenter being on the team in 2005. That was kind of weird deal. I think Paul had a clause in his factory kawi deal about if he podiumed in 2004 he got his deal renewed but somehow he ended up at Pro Circuit. I forgot how that exactly went but would be interesting to hear mitches take on that

He’s an awesome dude. Grew up with Paul and still pretty tight with jack his cousin. I believe Paul’s still doing his own excavating business and living in Ithaca. As kids seen him do things on a hammered CR80 with ripped up Answer gear that was mind blowing. He always made the most out of whatever he had. Jumping the downhill triple at broome tioga on his 80 in 1994. Nobody jumped that on an 80 back then or prolly ever besides Paulie

In 01 I was working for a KTM shop and we had met Paul in Atlanta I believe when he was riding a privateer Honda. We talked to him about riding a KTM and we brought an extra one out to New Orleans for him to ride. He was ripping it up in practice until he wadded and re injured his navicular. Super down to earth dude.

I’m with ya on this, hadn’t listened to WTS since half way thru Reed part 2 and I couldn’t put up with it anymore.

Such an enjoyable listen, this podcast. A calm conversation without interruptions all the time. Thank you so much for allowing silence during the part where Mitch is talking about his accident, and letting him get it out at his own pace.

GL is great on TV but perhaps the two talkative personalities of him and Ping aren’t great for 2 on 1 interviews.

Great show Ping. Learned much about Mitch that I wasn't aware of. He's such an industry icon. Can't wait to hear part 2 with GL in the mix.

Btw, the Kiedrowski show was epic. Not many people knew/know what a frikken raw talent Mike was. He was an absolute animal outdoors. The way he absolutely annihilated an outdoor track on his factory KX-250 was effing unreal. Dude was a BMF!!!

Although Mike is well known for his MXKIED license plate, not many know about his wallet....

Just listened to this today at work. Can’t wait for part 2!

I think Donnie did a great job filling in, he asked questions about Mitch’s answers that Mitch would’ve glossed past and not delved into which was great for someone like me who hasn’t followed his career at all or know that much of older moto history and such. To me it didn’t seem like he was ever stepping over anyone and helped prompt details or stories Ping and Mitch have probably gone over tons of times and may have skipped passed.

Part two with GL should be great! I really enjoyed part one, Mitch is a great story teller and has so many to tell! The PCP logos and shirts cracked me up, I never knew that!

I enjoy hearing GL's stories- the guy is a former world and national champion.
The other dude, however (Donnie), needs to cut out about 50% of his input. Nobody is tuning in to hear his perspective.

The best thing about Donnie, to me, is that he was riding in Southern California back in the day. So, when they have guests like RJ or Marty Smith talking about 70s/80s SoCal tracks, he can chime in and keep the conversation moving, because GL and Ping don't have that background.

That being said, he could definitely throttle back on the talking over people (GL, too). Sound collisions are never a good thing.

I'm listening to it right now and it's bringing back so many memories from my mini days. Specifically, talking about Dave Miller and how trick the DMC KX 80's were. I remember Brian Swink had a DMC KX 80 and it was a work of art. Damn, that's been a long time ago.

Great work David and Donnie.

You guys are terrible. I love all the content that we are getting out of this show. We wouldn't get to hear any of these stories otherwise.
