Yeah, I'm interested in electric bikes.
Hope they (KTM or Honda) make it to the market in a few years if not sooner......
I'm currently waiting in an E-Pure Trials Bike. It has shipped from France and should be here in a few weeks.

I know people who had the same opinion as you, but then they rode mine! I was skeptical at first, then I saw Hill on one at straight rhythm, test rode one, and got a tattoo.

I feel like this is the best hope for our sport to evolve and actually grow. A base platform could be used for moto, offroad, and dual sport with simple power mods to fit each one. That would offer an economy of scale in production that we simply cannot get now. Maybe the R comes with top level suspension, the L comes with simpler stuff at a lower cost. Plug in lightning/ turn assemblies so that you can easily throw on a light kit for road use.
And now you have a much easier sell to parents, wives, etc, because that $10k bike isn't just a weekend toy.
Then add in maintenance, or the lack thereof. The electric will simply make the sport more accessible. Then there's the noise elimination.
So much potential to advance our sport all the way across the board....
Can't bloody wait!.
The conclusion was that the rotating engine mass of a 450 4-stroke engine was equivalent to 50lbs.
The Alta had zero rotating engine mass. That's why it was so much fun to corner and lay over in a rut. Same reason a 125 is easier to rail ruts because it has a lot less rotating engine mass than a 450. The more rotating engine mass, the more a bike wants to stand up in a corner.
When a rider would ask me how much it ways before they did a demo ride, I would tell them to ride it then tell me what the weight felt like. Most said the weight felt like a 250. Not 250lbs, but like a 250F, which is close to 230lbs. An Alta was about 260.
Where the weight was noticed was when you had to put the bike on a stand or pick it up from a crash.
They needed a lot more money, that’s why they went to HD.
They just needed another $50 million to be in good shape! Look how much Tesla has lost since they have been in business.
