Gen 4. Started riding in 85. First bike was a 69 Honda mini trail when I was 8. Second bike when I was 9 was a 1980 MX 80. Third bike when I was 11 was a 77 RM 125. I couldn't touch the ground on it. But, I could hang on and hold it wide open.

Started on a 92 PW50 in 93, rode a KX60 starting in 96 and moved up to a CR80 in 2000 right when the 65’s came out. After that I got a brand new YZ85 for Christmas of 2001 when they came out. So I missed the 65’s and barely rode 85’s for a little over a year.

I remember riding 60’s and looking at the kids in the 50 class riding Polinis and Cobras just thinking how much cooler they looked than the PDubs.

Me too.

Cut down BSA Bantam and Triumph Cubs were my start in the 60s as a little bloke. Maintained the Bantam myself ( it was sink or 'effing' swim with my Dad) and I built the Cub based bike myself. Never had a dollar from my parents with regards to two wheels after the Bantam. And, I am thankful for that.

we actually took a briggs engine out for the swap, rear brake was the same steel plate against that little tire, they were practically useless. sucker was downright scary when it was wet out, which it was a lot.

In 1969 I got my first bike, a 1965 Yamaha YG1 80cc street bike. Put a knobby on back, a front trials tire, took off the low fender and bought a Petty front plastic that I made a mount for. I rode it until my Dad took it away and gave it to my little brother. I was working odd jobs and saved up for several different bikes, including a Kawai 250, DT-3 250 enduro to ride to school, In 1975 I bought my first real race bike, a RM125. Raced it my Junior and senior years in high school on my own dime. Parents said you wanna do that stuff, pay for it yourself. So I did. Including a 1967 C-10 Chevy PU to haul it in. Camper shell, go to the races, spend the night, etc. Lots of good memories, all in So Cal. Gloy days, Saddleback, De Anza, Indian Dunes, etc.

I don’t know what gen!
First bike was a whites auto 3 hp mini bike, then a 74 Suzuki ts100, then a tm100, next a 77 rm80, 77 rm 100, now the late 70’s gets confused! Lol I know I had a 78 yz125, a 79!yz250, a 79 rm125, 81yz125,82kx125, 83yz125, 82rm465, 83 RM250, 85 RM250, 88 YZ250, 86 kx500, ( what was I thinking) lol , 89 YZ250, 94 KX250, 99 KX250, 06 kx450, 09 yz450, 11 350 xc, 2012 YZ250, 15 Ktm 300xc , 16 yz250x, 2020 kx450, !!
I think I got them all, 😂

Gen 1. My dad got us a Honda 50 and we immediately built a ramp in the alley with a probably three foot 2x6 and a couple of bricks and did our very best Evil Knievel impressions.
