I’ve noticed on instagrams people seem to be riding in a way similar to this gem of a video.

Shucks, this is from the same day as the other video I’m looking for. The other one had some techno music to it.

Yeah, it’s just wild thinking how far ahead of his time he was. Even pros were t doing the stuff he was doing in the other video I can’t seem to find.

I wish I could find the other video. He was wheeling up and down a triple step up tabletop step down. https://youtu.be/ROTAlypmqTo

Thanks for posting this stuff, love watching anything with bubba! The guy was extremely talented and did things on a bike so effortlessly it seemed.

Seem to remember a video of him riding at night and he was doing that??

Had a quick look, couldn't find it but found this one which I have always loved (on a 250 but).

I don't know....after seeing everything else Bubba has done...this footie seems mild....but it's cool seeing him in a casual setting at a local track back in the day.

There's a video that I've tried finding multiple times. Him riding a kawasaki 2 stoke at night at a local track and absolutely scrubbing like 3 jumps in a row. I can vision it in my head as i watched it about 100 times back in the day but cannot find it currently.

Not a single pro today could ride a 125 like james did in 04.

The best guy ever on a 125. Don't even come at me with someone else, including RC.

Which top pro rides with 4-wheelers on the track these days? He was so awesome.

It’s crazy how you can exactly remember those videos from the early internet/ youtube days.
Those were some good times for sure.

Also in the first video it perfectly shows how accesable our sport. All the kids chattibg with james while he’s getting himself ready for practice.
You won’t get that in soccer,NBA,...

Difference with James tho was he wasn’t wasting energy and he was carrying speed doing it. You see so many new school guys doing “sick” shit that isn’t making them go faster for sure... like the difference between James and BamBam, and then again.

He’d also link the track like a road racer, arcing turns to straights so he didn’t have to slow down. I remember Bailey describing him go-karting, I think during a moto. He said James is just trying to work out how he could hold it wide open and not lose any speed.

Ha! If that’s 2004, I love how he shows up to Bithlo in an SUV and flatbed trailer in his third year as a factory pro

I know the video your talking about too wish I could find it. Opens up with a shot of the track name on a sign that says motocross world? Him hitting that step up/down like a set of whoops was the coolest.

I loved that aspect of his riding. He was the king of the outside to inside and back to outside move around corners. He did it really good in that Glen Helen video. Just wide open the whole time.

The beautiful thing about James, was that he did these extraordinary things from a 125 to 450. And he did it on both disciplines MX and SX

James Stewart did exactly what Jeremy Mcgrath did in the 90"s. Changed the game. The way James attacked and carried momentum and misdirected his momentum was and still is a thing of beauty to watch. There were some epic battles between RC, JS, and CR. Thanks James.

This looks like it may be from the same footage where the bike bogged and he cased that jump pretty hard.

Thats the one. That little clip of him scrubbing those jumps all back to back blew my mind back in the day.

that first vid of him at elsinore is so gnarly. That was the old vet track and he had the whole place watching him ride it. It was like 12 in the afternoon too the tracks were so shitty haha I'm one of those kids sitting on the outside of the track watching.
