I think Kenny should absolutely race the nationals. It is the best thing he could possibly do.

The guy has been racing for a long time. Kind of reminds me some of how RC, RV and RD reached a point mentally where they had enough of racing. They were forcing themselves to keep going.

You can say his two 'bad' rounds at SLC were because he was sick but he was struggling mentally at those races. I could see him retiring "early" at the end of this year or next.

2021 will be harder for him than this year. Eli will be full of confidence and so will Webb, Zacko, Anderson and AC. Eli and Webb have better conditioning than Ken does and that plays a big part of this.

You do realize that there are only a handful of guys on the entire planet earth that have Roczen's talent and speed, right? Whether he wins the 450 SX title or not, he's in the very elite group that is even capable of doing so. His heart and determination are an inspiration to anyone who is paying attention, and I would argue that there is no one with his first lap intelligence when it comes to carving through the field. Even my guy Eli is way more cautious and methodical after a bad start. Watching Kenny outdoors during his final season at RCH was something to behold. He can hold his head high as one of the greatest ever....

Wait, what? Webb beat him every Wednesday night in SLC, and he beat him last year in SX.

He has his back to the wall more than ever. DF14 and Sexton AC Tomac Webb and more.

Also his own illnesses and struggles was this his last good shot at a sx title?
His back was against the wall when he was fighting through multiple career ending injuries. It wasn't long ago when it was said he wouldn't be able complete on the pro level again, then it was said he wouldn't be a title threat. Since then he has won in both SX and MX and was a legitimate title threat in SX this year and often the fastest outdoors rider.

KR is the greatest comeback story ever and has made unbelievable progress and has a good shot at either title.

The odds were against Tomac or Roczen ever winning a 450SX title at the beginning of this year. A lot of things lined up in Tomacs favor and he got it done. The odds against both of them doing it are much greater, and with another year added to the mix it's going to be a huge overcoming of the odds for Roczen to do it. I think Tomac will be a one and done, he should have 4 now but he overcame the odds and got it done. So congratulations to #3.
Out of the last 3 champs, if anyone’s a one and done I don’t think it will be Tomac

You think Jason Anderson has a better chance to win another championship than Eli Tomac?

Remember how Tomac said he wanted to win his second 450 MX title even more than the first one?

I am sure he will be 'all in' and highly motivated for two SX titles in a row next year. He will be hard to beat.

Eli is definitely in his prime right now. He is the fastest guy out there. In better shape than any of them and now seems to be very strong mentally.

It ain't Kennys speed, it's Kenny brutal inconsistencies. I love Kenny and l think he'll continue to win races but until he figures out his health l don't see him winning any championships.

There's too many other guys that can do it every week and right now KR can't. It sucks.

A compromised immune system is very mentally and physically tough to deal with. I hope he takes the summer off and shows up at A1 at his best.

I'm definately not ruling him out. He's still young and if he stays healthy, has another 5 years at a serious shot at it. He's still the only guy on the track that, if he's healthy, can hang with a beast mode Tomac

To be fair there, Windham had two 125 SX titles.

Unfortunately, yes. I expect to get a ton of downvotes but I dont believe he will ever get a SX title.
I respect your opinion, I am a Roczen fan so I am a little more positive and hope he does get one next year. Shit getting 3rd this year with his issues is a pretty amazing effort !!

Do any of you ever stop and think how compromised Kens arms probably are? Between bouts with energy depletion I think that if his bike set up isn't just right or a track has a certain characteristic I think some of what we witness is him struggling to hold on. Yes he has always ridden very precise but it seems accentuated these days like he has to ride with perfect form in order to compensate. For him to ever beat Eli in a championship at this point is looking not possible. I feel awful for what has happened to the guy and love that he is here racing but I will be surprised if this situation ever clears up completely.

I have a hard time seeing Kenny win a SX title. Even if healthy, I don’t see him beating either Eli or Cooper for a season. Then there is the AC factor. Honestly, if Eli figures out starts, everybody will have an uphill battle for a season title. Webb will be the one to challenge Eli.

Ken is remarkably consistent, for the most part. (Granted, there were a few exceptions this year.) Take that, sprinkle in a few wins, and imagine just one injury or bad race for Eli and Cooper, and he practically has the title in the bag. Don't count that guy out yet.
I'm with most of the posters here in saying that he might not beat Webb or Tomac straight up, but remember just two season ago, when Anderson won the title? Yeah, shit happens.

Eli is a dad now. Only one rider has won a sx title under that stat. That's life changing right there, which could play in Ken's favor.

Except Ken will be a dad by the time SX starts again too.

My wording may be confusing but no, I think Tomac has much more chance to repeat than Webb and Anderson.

His win tally, outdoor record and now the sx title, he has been ON it and consistently battling for it.

Those guys have been out of the conversation entirely some of those same years.

Right?! Gajser and Evens looked horrible on that new bike! ...lol
If the bike is better, then it's better. Like that year Kawi put RV on the new bike for MX because it was a better platform!

Roczens window should have been closed years ago with that horrific crash. Instead the guy has worked his ass off and has improved each year since then... i would argue he is easily at his best since that injury and there's no reason to think he cant improve in 2021.

It won't be easy with so many fast guys on the gate. But he would have to be among the most likely to win it. He was right there with Tomac before COVID hit. If everything is back to normal and he's healthy. I back him to finish top 3 in points atleast and be in the hunt for his first SX title.
