So...this Tomac guy...

The way Tomac looked over the weekend and how he literally blew by people with such speed, what are the chances he wins out the rest of the season? Meaning, he wins all 6 remaining rounds (all 7 if you include last weekend). I say he wins at least 3 of the 6 remaining races, minimum. The guy looked impressive, to say the least.

If he gets decent starts no one is beating him in track conditions like we saw on Sunday.

Unlikely to win out,but I agree with your 3 of the 6 assessment. The Eli haters would have a meltdown if he were to win out.

I like Tomac but his lack of “social media” presence has me rooting for the other guys. This is his to loose, all factors considering.

I wouldn't make that bet. He's generally not a good starter. If he gets a bad start and is buried in the pack, both Webb and Roczen could easily take the win while Eli tries to charge through the pack - which increases his risk of crashing out of that race. My gut tells me Eli has matured and if that scenario plays out, he will charge but do it under control and not try to over ride the track, and just get what he can. Ricky always says it best, you win championships on your bad days. One bad start for Eli (who isn't all that great at starts) and he could have a bad day.

Now, SLC dirt and conditions are almost perfect for Eli. So to me, he is the clear favorite to win the title. I just don't see him running the table. Listening to Ken's post race interview, I don't think he thinks he's out of it yet.

Ha, I think I like him more because of this. To each his own.

On the contrary, I like his lack of social media presence.

When he is 'ON' nobody beats him.

And it sure seem like he's finally figured out how to bring his consistent success in MX, indoors to SX.

I could see Webb maybe sneaking in a win or two, especially in the last few races if Tomac is content to manage points.

But no, I don't see Roczen finishing in front of Tomac, at least until it doesn't matter anymore.

This is the exact reason a lot of people love him.

I think we will see some of the top guys slide out and go down in the up coming races. I don't think the traction is going to get much better. They will fix the mapping and boiling fuel. Traction is going to be the wild card. Consistently finishing second might win the championship. Who knows. I'm just going to enjoy watching it.

Right hand first turn Wednesday. Usually invokes craziness although it is at the end of a long start, not like Jacksonville 2011.

As much as I hate to say it....Eli's gonna Eli. He's the fastest man on the planet 1 day and the next he brings in a 8th. He's been much more consistent this year but I just know one of those races is coming and this whole points battle will be neck & neck again. I wouldn't be surprised if Webb rallies and closes the gap between him and Kenny also making it more of a 3-way battle for the last couple races.

32 points back with 6 rounds to go would take a herculean effort from Webb and more than one mis-fortune for Eli. Anything's possible I guess, but Kenny would benefit the most.

I would have said the same in the past about anticipating Eli's self-inflicted mistakes, but I think this new Dad vibe will only help his game. As I mentioned in the Sunday practice thread, that focus / confidence / energy in those initial months after bringing a newborn into the world is formidable. If they could bottle that, it would be the ultimate energy / focus drink.

Going with Eli winning 3 out of the next 4 rounds, allowing him to manage the last few rounds for the championship.

Well you have to admit that he blew right threw a wall this weekend!

Normally when he gets dropped the wheels come off and he goes nowhere. He got dropped, pulled it together and went to the front. When did you ever see that out of him?

I can think of 7 races times $300,000 per wins reasons why he wants to win 7 straight!

Agreed. I loathe social media in general.

The only person he really needs to beat at this stage is Kenny. If he extends his points lead over the next couple rounds I expect he will then just start to manage the points over the last few.

Of course. That’s why riders sign contracts.

I hope that he doesn’t try to win out and force a major mistake. If he is his normal self on his “on” days, and settles for a podium on his “off” days, he should be able to win the title. I don’t think that Roczen could win out, and if they basically split finishes (with Webb in the mix) I think Tomac has the best chance for highest average finish.

Hopefully the seamstresses at Alpinestars are triple checking the zippers on their pants.....

So if Tomac was more of a Social media "influencer" instead of the focused dedicated motocross racer that he is you'd be a bigger fan?

There is almost 0 chance he wins out. He will have a bad start and 94 will be consistent and be gone. Also last race or two if hes got a good enough lead he will back it down
