I tried to post earlier but one wouldn't load.

I always thought the works Honda's of Marty Smith and crew were mythical creatures that no mere mortals could ever own. Fast forward 35 years and this mere mortal stumbled upon one.

Marty in 1978

Today in the bat cave.

For a more modern pick.... I think the best looking bikes out there in the last couple years are the JGR rides.

(and I'm a Yamaha guy)

Would maybe kill for one of these....

The following post IS NOT “Safe for Newmann”...

ANYTHING from this era at HRC. There’s simply -no- competition when it comes to MX-Exotica...

Any of the RC125 and RC250 works bikes. Plus the YZ400M just because it was such a game changing machine.

Found this bike sitting under a tarp next to a garage. Took me 6 months to get it from the original owner. He rode it a few times bent the front rim then replaced it and parked it for life. It was original down to the bear claw Bridgestones and air filter. I sourced a period correct front rim. My guess was about ten hours total run time. Bike condition was as pictured. Dummy me sold it to buy bikes for my sons. Rode it one time.oh man how I wished I had it back. But every time I ride with my boys makes it worth it

Early 70’s CCM. TBH never thought I would have the wrenching skills to keep it running well.

I'd give my left nut to own this bike. I'd probably give my right nut to ride it one or two times.

well I picked a good replica then! I remember the originals at the time when they were rolling out of the back of the box van. They were so exotic it was hard to wrap your head around it.

I only lusted after the un-obtainium. Top of the list is Holeshot Hansen's 1982 Honda RC250.

I only ride in motocross tracks, but since I was a kid, I loved the look of this bike.

Also, love the aluminum framed YZ's, especially the 125 with the previous gen plastics.

I was a RJ and Honda fan growing up and was in High School when before the twice pipes on the four strokes Honda brought out the “low boy” pipe in order to centralize the mass... anyway I always loved the 88-89 CR250s like this example that JMB won the world title on!
