He will probably be dead last next 2 races. But he still put the bike in the night show.

Are you actually comparing the LCQ to the real race???

But a ESR 325 moved up to 16th, then finished where he started in 19th. For a 2007/2008 Technology Bike that cost about 50% of the others you can't complain.
Not taking anything away from you or Mike, but I’m thinking Yamaha should put some development into their 2-strokes so that when they’re in these one-off events, the fallback doesn’t always end up being “well it’s pretty good for a bike that hasn’t changed in fourteen years.”

In the second race he was in the top 6-8 positions to the first turn, but he is Backing Off the Throttle to be safe.

A 2 stroke on the metal grate start seems like it would be at a huge disadvantage against the torque of a 4 stroke.

This was captured with 2 to go. He must have fell down or slowed a lot.

But I do see his finished results were 19 , 19 & 17 for the 3 Races.

Dude. Half of the field had taken the joker lane and Alessi took it on the last lap.

So does this prove that the displacement rule is bogus...I mean Alessi is a good stater and all.

The power band for a 325 is not as broad as a 450, meaning it will not pull as long, so it probably will take a 375 to 400 2-Stroke to be even with a 450. To be fair Pro classes should be 250 vs 250 and 450 vs 450 max cc.

For half the money you can still have a lot of fun!

A rider decides to ride a two stroke for the sake of being a badass, gets bashed for it. Love it.
New to Vital?

WE know, we all get it, lol. The Alessi's goal was to qualify on a two stroke and they did it. Props to everyone involved that made it happen, and I salute Mike A. for his effort. And while I'm here...Friese had one helluva great night !!

Alessi got the holeshot and won the lcq against a field of pro level 450’s, his lcq lap times where 1.5 seconds faster than his main event lap times if he ran that pace in the main he would have done much much better. Starting on the outside never allowed him a fair chance of seeing what he could really do. Fact is Alessi was able to run with and beat many guys that are on there pro race 450’s, this shows what the bike is capable of, and people that arnt at that level it’s not something that would hold them back. The goal was make the main event, the top 22 riders, he did that and I applaud him for that, hopefully next year more will take the chance, he proved it can be done.

everyone behind him has taken the joker lane, green line shows that,

He went better than i expected, the holeshot in the LCQ is not what i expected at all,

congrats on a cool project, well done,

It’s an old argument, but since a 2s like this doesn’t even come close to a 450, why not change the AMAProRacing rules to allow a bigger 2s instead of just 250cc...

Oh come on man; that’d take like 5 min worth of work at a word processor to revise the rulebook not to mention they’d have to alot a few more cubic feet of storage at the MX Sports mini warehouse stall for the engine cases and cylinders that the participating manufacturers would have to submit to meet the homologation requirements. Far too much effort dude. Smile

Question- Could you have put that motor in a chassis that actually turns like a Suzuki, KTM or Husky or is that against the rules?

Come on now...not cool.
Mike had no part in the laser fiasco.
It was all Jeff from my understanding.
Jeff & the team paid their dues for it.

On a side note & back on topic.
It was cool to see Mike make it into the mains on that 2-smoker.
