Makes me wonder what his motives are considering his position in the media and why he’s trying to devalue it when so many Americans consider it the most prestigious race of the year. I listened to pulpmx today to hear Zach talk about the team and the race but his constant sniping made me switch off.
He’s trying to build a void and feed on the us and them mentality that this years team helped to subside a bit.
What’s in all this for him I don’t know maybe he just doesn’t like Euros.

Exactly. I also fail to see how Matthes is devaluing the event by attending it and giving his readers/listeners multiple hours of content on the event. Unless these people think the opinion of one man can truly alter the value of the most prestigious race in the world.

First off, I'm thankful for everything Matthes does for the sport. All of you people on here complaining about him, what exactly are you doing to make the sport better. Second, the PulpMX Show is ENTERTAINMENT. Matthes takes on a certain personality on the show to help make it entertaining. I've talked to him in real life, he's a much different guy one on one than in his studio selling his entertainment. Heck, even listen to his podcasts with Adam Wheeler and JT$ at the Nations, or his post-race interviews from there. He's actually so passive it's unnerving to me at times. Something about Wheeler just makes Steve very calm Smile

It’s not even about bashing Matthes, the whole bash thing coming from OP is a complete misinterpretation from what Steve even said. If you listen to his podcasts you’ll understand the way he says things and what he means by that. But to take a piece of what anyone says and clip it on a forum is a little stupid.

Second the location was a joke of a place to hold it. I have been lucky enough to attend the 2016 race in Italy and the atmosphere with the crowds was over the top. We almost won if not for another rider landing on Anderson.
Conditions like rain we can’t control and that’s the same for everyone. If you have never been to a MXoN in Europe please go and feel it. It’s not like anything here in the US and that’s a shame for what these guys are doing to represent.
I very seldom if not at all agree with Matthes but he’s right on some of the things he said to me from attending one in Europe. Red Buds crowd was tame compared to Europe. Just my opinion
And we have two sets of people that usually don't agree with each other agreeing with each other.

Its all trivial, but after his tweet , 5 days ago saying what he did, i felt it was something he needed calling . And going after Zach for his time in a session was just a dick thing to do IMO. Jesus, as much of an ass as i can be , i have said in pretty much all the threads on here that the 3 guys went about the job in the right way, it didnt pan out on the day, but thats racing, i havent bagged on them at all, or blown the GB on the podium trumpet either.
Steve said one thing and then did that exact thing himself, i think thats a bit poor.

Doesnt mean i will stop listening, but hey, everyone can have an opinion, even if its not yours...
