We should all advocate a class action lawsuit against Feld and DirtWurx. That'll really help bring maturity to the sport by bringing it to a quick and complete end.

In all seriousness. Can they get some Lung and blood tests, maybe eyesight, cause you know that shit got in there eyes! If you all (riders, mechanics) really want something to happen your gonna need to have your portfolio full of proof, mechanical parts of motorcycle would be a good example but Blood tests and breathing tests results would be better!

But if you guys do this, your biting at the hand that feeds, organizes all this.

Its up to you guys, a settlement check is gonna be a tough thing for feld to do, and then it will probably have to be an amount thats direct deposited, and its gonna have to be a check or ampunt of money paid by wednesday.

The money shouldnt just be covering the damaged goods but it should gover the trip expense, and the health tests and doctors visits this week. i mean ur talking almost 30k for each rider. IS IT POSSSIBLE?

The sport was better before Feld and will be better after Feld. I am sure Dirt Wurx was just following orders.

Are we sure this isn't a plague that came with the biblical levels of rain?

I think the biggest issue is why this was added to a track that they knew the chance of rain was 100% and the lime would then mix with the muddy water and the soak the riders and equipment a caustic that burns and etches both the rider and equipment. The person who made that call should foot the bill. I bet it won’t happen again but it’s a little to late.

You guys remember Trey Canard and racing standard ?? Hmmm wonder what would have happened if the riders/teams actually had someone to go to outside of the ama/fim... Would it change it anything ?

One other thing to add here: While I'm not disputing the burns from the riders being from the lime in the dirt, I think some guys could also be having rash from rubbing fabric as well. As a long time bicycle racer who lives in a rainy climate, I've had the rash looking like Cheyenne Harmon before, usually right where fabric ends against the skin. For example, leg warmers worn under shorts, often have had a nasty rash from them when racing. Also along the edges of the chamois in the cycling shorts. I think it's a combo of the fabric, the water, the temperature and a bit of dirt worked into the fabric.

Seeing the chunks in Lund's video makes me wonder if the speed build was more to blame than anything. It seems to be established that the Lime is pretty common in track building to help the features harden/set up. Watching the dirt wurx vlogs this season "Dirt Mixing" seems to be mentioned/shown, and while they never say anything about adding lime at this point, if as part of the speed build the lime wasn't mixed in and broken up as normal that could have lead to areas with higher concentrations of the caustic water and the issues the riders and teams are dealing with.

I feel for everyone involved, gaining some insight to the personalities and some of the work that goes into these track build's from DirtWurx Alex's youtube videos has been awesome, and i find it hard to believe any of the individuals in the crew would intentionally put the rider's at risk, not to metion the fact they were dealing with the same mess during maintenance and load-out. The "Show must go on" mentality in this sport is both one of the most entertaining and frustrating things about it, i remember going to the IronMan motocross race and being absolutely miserable trying to walk around the grounds just to see guys putt around the track trying to survive, and wishing they would have just postponed, but i understand that is logistically a nightmare.

It will be interesting to see if this all does go to a legal battle what the cost will be vs the lost revenue of canceling(most likely) or postponing the race(Least likely)

I'm not going to go back an re-read, but I'm pretty sure the mob, or I mean the "leaders" of SX are not going to take kindly to the riders airing their dirty laundry. Not much they can do when stars as big as Kenny are saying things, but you can bet if this was just the privateers voicing their complaints this would be swept under the rug.

Yeah,

that would really fix the problem.

Attorneys would drag this out for years and bill millions of dollars, and all those that suffered damage to themselves and their equipment would get a buy one/get one free voucher for a case of monster drinks.

seams like this really does need to be investigated fully
Sounds like these guys needed to be sent straight to the showers and the bikes to the wash racks...not everyone has a motorhome on site...were the stadium locker rooms available? are the ever?

How about the track workers? anyone else affected?
Where is the Alpinestars Mobile Medical Crew on this? will they weigh in?
Was the problem only realized after the race was over?
Did some riders get rinsed off right away and other's with more sever symptoms not?
Is KR worse off because of his time spent on the podium?
Why arent we hearing from others? Tomac? AC?
Is it worse for the 450 riders?

Nothing about this on the MX websites so I guess it's not "news"
Is there a real mx reporter anywhere?

But what would he say if you came home with chemical burns all over your body and a ruined bike?

This is a tough one. I could see this pushing things towards a rider unification group (RUG moving forward). Very interesting how this is developing.

and......you're welcome.
