I guess those external parts like cases, cylinder, rocker cover will be making it to practice bikes a little earlier if you can't buff that shit out?

What a cock and balls situation. Luckily the Broto PR Dutch ruddering machine, aka the moto media will get to the bottom of this.. and then when it finds the bottom (Feld), they will give that bottom a good ol’ rim job, I’m sure!

Looking forward to Ricky and Ralphs segment next week covering the chemical burns to the riders and the destruction of the bikes. If they choose to act like nothing happened it will be time to light the broadcast and Feld on fire.

With conditions like yesterday, lime would have been virtually useless.

This is the issue that all the teams, factory to one-man, can join together on.

Can you imagine racing the supercross futures event, and it rains? And your brand new bike is destroyed by lime? I know I would not be happy, and these privateers are kind of in the same situation. It would suck to have your bike totally trashed.

And to the guy that said just refinish, disposable this and that.....many of these guys are already running on a shoe string budget.

I feel really bad for all of the riders and mechanics. Those bikes need to be totally cleaned and built in like 2 days. If they can be saved at all. I have no idea how bad any pitting is or how that stuff comes off.

Also how is this going to affect san diego races in future seasons? They have lime dust mixed into the dirt. They need to pay for the damages and get new dirt for next year or simply skip san diego.

Shouldn't they not be able to use it because it has been known to cause cancer in California and they were in California? Somebody messed up...

I think it will be interesting to see how our Moto media handles this. They have an opportunity to shed some light on this and maybe we'll get some idea of what really happened, who made the call and how much of this shit was used.

These are factory sx and privateer sx bikes. I don’t think some Napa aluminum brightener and scotch Brite will bring these bikes back to what they were last week. The anodizing was flakes off. The mechanics aren’t doing a vital mx bikebuilds special, these guys are racing these bikes at the highest level of the sport and they need to be ready for the next round by Thursday. I’d be looking for a new bike. Would an insurance policy for the event help cover this or should feld give the riders $$ for new bikes and suspension? Surely those A kit bump sticks must be toast

Love this sport to death but it’s tremendously hard to take seriously when shit like this happens and there’ll more than likely be no repercussions

This is the proper answer.

Lime is found at a lot of riding areas, just ride it!

Attorneys must be licking their chops right now to cash in on a class action lawsuit.

Could these kids have survived when the tracks were so dusty you'd bleed from the nose 3 days later?

Nobody forced the m to ride.

Are the 1200 that ran that beach race pissed at God for putting salt in the sea?

Whoever is responsible for this decision should be required to write up the job posting on motocrossjobs.com.

I'd be curious if they worked for KTM or Feld. I would think the KTM guys would know better not to trash 15 bikes for 100 yards of entertainment. Could Feld really force them to go through with it? Or did KTM fear the wrath of 50 parents? It's bizarre we don't have a fairly clear chain of command in this sport.

Just imagine if something like this happened at a jobsite or a “real world job”.

These guys aren’t getting paid SHIT (from the ama/feld) and the teams wont bother to stand up for their employees.

I just think it’s insane that there isn’t some sort of riders association or anything of that nature. Hell, why not have someone or a retired guy be a “riders advocate” of some sort.. he talks to the riders and gets feedback, relays it to AMA/Feld and tries to get changes made for rider safety.

It’s never going to happen but it really, really should.
Trey Canard tried, went over like a fart in church. I think people just want to make it so bad they will eat all kinds of shit for it. Kind of like selling your soul to the devil.

There is a difference between natural hazards and idiotic manmade ones.

Holy shit that is bad! I knew lime was a little rough on aluminum ( especially the anodized parts ) but that is just crazy.

Something does need to happen. As much as I hate the "Lawsuit mentality" of the USA, this is definitely a time when it needs to happen. AMA/Feld/Dirt Wurx, whoever made the LIME decision, needs to take responsibility. Its a Multi-Million Dollar lawsuit. A new promoter is needed that wants racing to be more realistic, instead of the money hungry machine driving the "we need closer points, closer racing, faster jumps, less safety" rhetoric.

Old blood. Go take a bath in lime. Wait until you find out waters dangerous. You could drown.

What a bunch of idiots that did this. I really get sick of the 1000% lack of accountability over anything whatsoever from the parties that hold these events.
