I'm enough of a CR freak to notice that's an '87 seat and you went with the radical new '91 white radiator panel look. Grinning

Haha yep. Stock it was orange, orange, and orange. But at least it didn't have the funky zebra striped seat the 91's had Laughing

Is it due to the owners thinking they are worth more than they actually are, or is there some substance to back it up

Feel free to post pics of yours, to me there're one of the best lookers out there
Without getting into the details of each model basically pre 1997 awesome, post 1997 not so much, although some of the last models handled sweet and the linear power is easy to ride.
Of course having Honda quality helps them age better than most.

people know the Honda name is synonymous with quality ...for some reason there sure are a lot of 97-99 cr250"s for sale around me...of course they all have a "new top end" ...

I love my original 1974 Honda CR-250M Elsinore. It was Honda's first 2-Stroke motocross bike. It has a special place in motocross history and is the first of the Honda CR line.

Check out the CR activity in the Bike Builds section. Lots of good 80's & 90"s restores. Its great to see these old bikes shined up and tricked out.

I have had a blast finding bombed out and completely written off CR's from Craigslist and resurrecting them. Love doing the 92-96 ones. I have saved about 7 so far and released them back into the wild and am about to start on #8.

the problem with restorations to sell, is the the majority of people that would want to own one would want to do the build done themselves (or have someone do it for themselves).

This generation was my first real bike so I'll always have a soft spot for them. Plus the 1 time out of 100 I can smoke someone on a "better" bike makes it all worth it.

Recently bought a 2000 CR125 in excellent condition and after having the 4 jap brand 4 stokes, both 250 and 450, with Kawi being the last 5 that I have owned, you CANNOT deny the quality of a Honda motorcycle. BTW my last Honda was a 2004.

Some really nice bikes posted here. We have an '05 250 (mine) and an '07 125 we bought used for my son.

The great thing about these AF CRs is that the frame is basically indestructible. With a freshened motor and cosmetic work, most of these 2000-07 CRs can be made to look and perform like new. (And for thousands less than a new bike).

I have a couple of hundred hours on my 250 and don't foresee getting anything else at this point.

(We also have a couple of 82 CRs for vintage racing -- that's a whole 'nother chapter).

Some nice bikes boys.

Anyone own 125 and 250, or ridden both, which do u prefere and why ?
I'm lucky enough to have recently add a 250 to acompany the 125, iv never ridden a 250 crosser and am busting to get out on it, pals say it's gonna riipp.having owned enduro 250 and 300 2st, will it have considerably more poke?
I think the 125 will still be the one that gets loaded on the van more often than not, as love riding it

Raced this bike probably 30+ times since 2013 when this was taken. Just takes a licking and keeps on ticking. A ton of work but nothing a reasonable wrench can't handle.
