Some nice bikes boys.

Anyone own 125 and 250, or ridden both, which do u prefere and why ?
I'm lucky enough to have recently add a 250 to acompany the 125, iv never ridden a 250 crosser and am busting to get out on it, pals say it's gonna riipp.having owned enduro 250 and 300 2st, will it have considerably more poke?
I think the 125 will still be the one that gets loaded on the van more often than not, as love riding it
I like both for different reasons. It is hard to choose a preferred. The 125 probably puts a bigger smile on my face but the 250 is easier to ride.

I tend to do runs of each bike... might ride the 125 for a month and then the 250 for a month. If you enjoy the 125 then I think you’ll like the 250, whereas I can see someone going from a 250 down to a 125 might be a little disappointed with the lack of power.

Amazed at how many of us there are who would rather ride a 10-45 year old 2 stroke than a shiny new 4 stroke. Good job guys!

Let me add one more. 1980 CR250 with 43mm front forks, billett triples, Fox Factory swing arm, Ohlins shocks, 79 CR125 fuel tank, Pro-Form pipe/silencer combo and a bunch of custom made ti and aluminum hardware.

Man, that is one sweet bike.,..
I had a 84 125 and my Dad had the 250, I was so scared of it. I was 12 and weighed like 140lbs. Left side kick was brutal..when the 250 got on the pipe, I could barely hold on.

My ‘86 was a handful too. Put a flywheel weight on her and she’s perfect. I’m pretty proud of her. Always turns heads when I take her out.

I think I am having fun on my CRF450 4 stroke until I swing my leg over the old 2 stroke...

Check out Marks 87 250 build in the “build” forum. I have some ‘89 and ‘91 CR250 parts for sale, and soon some ‘87 shtuff and a 1985 engine...

Cool thread and have been enjoying looking at all of your nice CR's still out there creating smiles and roosting dirt. I am at a point in my elder years of moto life that it is either "fun or nothing", and I don't know what it is about riding old 2-stroke dirt bikes....but it brings the fun factor for me. Is it the challenge of keeping it on the pipe? The nostalgia? The high revs and vibration? The brapp sound? The smell of 2-stroke exhaust?? Blowing by your friends on a newer 4-strokes?

i couldn't agree more...I got married and had kids and was out of the sport for a bit. Im 41 now and im not trying to hit the quad or scrub jumps 4th gear wide open. My kids ride and its all about the fun factor at this point in my life. I would def last longer at the track on a 4 stroke, nothing like the sound of a 2 stroke on the pipe. Even the young bucks are smiling and wishing they had a 2 stroke to play with

I just picked up an 02 cr250 and I just took it to the track yesterday for the first time and I cant believe how good it handles. This is my first cr I've always wanted one and now I have one and plan on restoring it and working out all the bugs with the motor. The motor isnt really that bad as people claim it to be just have to use a little more clutch. A keihin airstryker carb is first motor mod I will do after I get suspension set up. They are great bikes.

Damn. Most of you don’t realize what this is...
Probably the most updated looking steel CR I’ve seen!
Did you cut the rear panels?
Do you have a build thread?

Is this the PC 296 silencer? I just purchased the restyle kit myself and a shorty would look absolutely tits, but I live in CA and the SA is required. I currently run the Fatty/TC2 setup, but was really hoping to change things up and move to a PC pipe - but the 296 looks and from what I’ve read is significantly longer than FMF’s TC2. True?

It’s so much fun, I’ve been off the bike for over a year, can’t wait to get her back to the track. No carpet queen here, she was built to go ride. I’ve been collecting nos spares whenever I find them, as this one is a keeper.
