Complete RS Management blunder, and the F1 analogy is bang on.

They shouldn’t be. They need to separate the guys that don’t have any business being out there.

Meanwhile Tomac pounding out laps in privacy of Colorado and Marvin hammering down with Aldon in Florida. Why these guys risk riding on open tracks is beyond me. And why can't Glen Helen just have two 1 hour sessions on Thursdays for pros only?? That place seems so greedy....already selling every square inch at the National, then letting every squid in so Cal on for practice. JFC.

I expect teams will start renting the track on certain days and will move back east next year. Can't take the chance of some local goon taking out your star rider. Or in Husky's case, both of their 450 riders.

I've seen way too many sketchy incidents the past five years or so at all those tracks with pros involved. Some specifically are quite bad at handling the general public on the track...laptimes end up meaning more than safety.
It's been a long while since I chased the pros while getting ready for CMC Golden State or Trans-Cal. Since 2010 or 2011. Back then there weren't nearly the issues, but it seemed most of us knew to hold our lines and let the pros go around us. And others would get off the track and watch RV, RD and the rest. I guess things have changed in the last 7-8 years.

Here's a pretty simple fix.... rent the track out on Thursdays for $950 split that across a couple teams if you have to. Sure seems stupid to put your multi million dollar rider on a track with amateurs.

Kinda chaps my ass.
It really chaps my ass and I made my voice heard multiple times when I was there to staff that them running that board is BS if they won't follow the main guidelines of the foundation. I will admit, I have zero clue if it's still present at the entrance at this time. I only go there for bike intros and the National as the safety aspect means something to me.

It's hard to understand not having essential safety basics like flaggers. If it cost money, pass it through the riders. Tracks should charge what it takes to do run a track with essential safety elements, and people should be willing to pay it.

The sport can not afford any more injuries. Sucks for all involved.

All the local tracks here have bumped us up to $30 per rider starting last year and I haven't seen a difference at any of the tracks that I've been to. At least LACR has flaggers. Last time I was at Comp Edge, they didn't. Zaca never did either. No medics were present as well.

Wait, it's only $950 to rent out GH for an entire day? That sounds unbelievably cheap, and would be a drop in the bucket for any of the factory teams.

Weird. My local track in Minnesota provides flaggers on practice days. They also used to have separate practices for spodes and minis. Not sure what I'm missing with the so-cal system being the way it is. Why don't tracks give free practice to some people who would flag in return? Why not rotate slow and fast rider's time on the track to keep them separate? Are there so few riders that no one cares about safety?

The other tracks in the SoCal area have flaggers and EMTs on sight. Splitting practice has become a thing of the past sadly.
That is pretty damn nuts , for anyone really. Especially for a super fast factory rider. Seems like a pretty big risk.

To be fair, Glen Helen isn't the only one that doesn't have flaggers. Does Milestone? Cahuilla Creek?

Milestone, Perris, Cahuilla, and Pala have flaggers/EMTs on site.

They would lose money compared to a standard Thursday. At $25 a pop a standard Thursday has I’d guess around 80-100 paying entries during this time of the year.

Is that new? When I was there (albeit it was a couple years ago) Milestone and Cahuilla didn't.

As long as I can remember, Milestone has had flaggers. Way too many people ride there. That place with no flaggers would be so dangerous!

Like a norminal Thursday at Glen Helen the PROS were in full forcetesting for THE Nationls unfortunately, someone, crashed off the single-to-table before the finish line people were flagging riders around the jump when JASON Andersens as well as the another riders was all going round the rider at a pace WHEN JUSTIN approached teh downed rider other riders was on the right side of him and all a sudden veered right OVER! into Josh as if her the rider did not see Jason and hates HIM taking them both out
You are a savage, Peelout.

Lets put it into perspective, for the maximum amount of $2500.00 Glen Helen is willing to risk the lives of up to 100 people.

Seems kind of crazy huh?

I've learned that there are quite a few track owners that don't seem to care about safety of the riders at all, only how much $$ they can bring it. One track owner I really like is the owner of Cal City MX. John is an all around good guy that loves to hear from and talk to the riders. He wants the track to be fun, challenging and safe which he seems to do really well. Ed from Zaca was another one, other than no flaggers or medic, but you could pretty much see everything there.

Forget the pros vs squids stopwatch nationals. Shouldn't he have been in Colorado getting acclimated to the elevation?

So Jason's fault if this is accurate.
Or.... Blind area and poor/no flagging?

If it hasn't been posted yet, it's for sure a broken leg.

This is exactly why my dad started the Milestone Pro day deal back in 2009. Both tracks hooked together, ripped as deep as the disks would go, and watered the piss out of it. Started as pro license only but the they shattered letting fast A and B kids join in. But if you were off the pace or in the way you got pulled off and they had a manager supervising this until 2pm every Wednesday. I believe this still runs but it definitely a shell of what it started as.

If you are on a track practicing and you think it's cool that you are on the same track with Jason Anderson you need to get off the track.

With Swink passing just a bit ago I have been thinking of a time when I ended up riding with him during practice at Brown City on a race day. This was probably the last ride he had on a Kawasaki and he went by me like I was dragging an anchor. Literally fast enough that he startled me. Nothing good could come of me being on the track with him so I sat the rest of practice out.

Brett Kline crashed at a Thurs GH practice in 2007 and fell into a coma and then sadly passed away the next Tues. Just saying and l don't want Brett fogotten.

I don't understand why GH doesn't have flaggers but l know regardless of whether the are or aren't flaggers l stop and help manage the flow of riders after a crash and thank god my good fellow riders did the same for me when l ate shit at Milestone earlier this year.

Motocross dudes tend to be good, caring individuals who want to help no matter what but l agree that all facilities should have flaggers and especially EMTs on site whenever the track is operating.
