Las Vegas SX press conference

Maybe they can have Grant pull a 'Chisholm'

I thought I was gonna see Tomac tear up there for a min. He should take some lessons from RV on how to manage his series better than RD. I can't wait for this thing to be over so we don't have to hear the Tomac fans cry anymore. It's getting as bad as November in here.

Lost a ton of respect for Eli with that comment. I'd be surprised if he even finishes Vegas. If he doesn't get the hole shot and start pulling away he'll freak out and start crashing, again. Just like last week. Don't look for Dungey to race for the lead this week, he's smart and that wouldn't be the smart thing to do. Perhaps he's been doing that all year. My guess is that if Dungey wants to hang it out like Eli does he'd be just as fast. Eli can't stay up consistently at that speed and Dungey can't either. Does the name James Stewart come to mind? Same ball to the walls attitude that has cost Eli the championship, you've got to be smarter if you want to win the big prize.

Like Tomac and Kawasaki wouldn't have done the same thing.

Just a question but has RC , MC , JS or RV had to have team tactics pulled to win a title or did they just win it by being the BEST

Like someone already said, it's little more than a attempt to rattle Dungey. The comeback if Dungey were inclined to hand it back would be, "It's the titles my old team cost me with dnf's and mechanicals that keep me up at night. Hopefully, melatonin will work for ET too."

There have been articles that have said they don't get the same....I remember seeing some in Pit Bits as well. Some of it may be by choice, but I remember that the info alluded to that wasn't necessarily the situation.

Wow it sounds like if Eli needs to get around his teammate Grant on the last lap tomorrow to win the title he expects Grant to fight back tooth and nail. Possibly even taking out both of them in the process. Otherwise it's not deserved.
Yeah, because there's absolute NO ROOM between fighting tooth and nail for a spot and pulling over to let someone by.

Adding some heat to that Diesel, not so sure that was the smartest move. I love it. Thanks for the clip Marx

Calculated remarks by Eli. He might be hoping it will give Ryan extra motivation to win tomorrow (both to beat Eli for his remarks and to finish his SX career with a victory), and if Ryan is more motivated to win the main than win the title, the odds of him crashing trying to do that go way up.

Eli's comments ignore the very real possibility that Ryan would have passed Marvin even if Marvin
did not pull over; Ryan is the better rider and is certainly capable of doing that.

eli is right. if dungey wins by 3 or less points than he simply did not beat tomac for the championship. if dungey wins by 4 or more points dungey will be the deserving champion. I don't know what is there to argue about, we all seen last weeks race and every idiot understands what happened. has it been done before? yes! but that doesn't justify doing it again and to be ok.

Just being brutally honest, I like both Dungey and Tomac as riders. I think they are both badasses. I feel bad for both of them at the moment. One has been super consistent, the other has been crazy fast yet inconsistent. To me, those 3 points don't make any difference and here's why. Can Dungey beat MM straight up? Absolutely, has happened more often than not. Dungey had the fastest qualifying time last weekend and won his heat by a mile. During the race, he knew he had a huge lead over Tomac (after he went down) and was going to take a points lead into the final race. He was in points protection mode, riding smart like Dungey always does, and didn't want to make a stupid mistake (s) like Eli did to throw it away. MM had nothing to lose in that race, and could hang it out further. Could Dungey have beaten him without MM letting him by? Sure he could have. But why run that risk? It's not like Dungey can't beat MM in a race, no offense to MM.

I still can't believe MM passed Dungey in the first place during the race. To me, it was as blatantly obvious that Dungey was in points protection/safety mode after Eli went down as it was obvious MM letting him by.
Great post !!!!!!!

I'm not sure we watched the same race or same series for that matter. To me Marv has had Dungey covered at most races recently. I do not think that was a very real possibility.

There is a very real chance Dungey has a mental meltdown this weekend also. He could have bike problems. He could get taken out. This thing is not over yet.

This whole controversy sucks for SX. Clearly people don't like the team orders, MM letting RD by or the older incidents like the video of Chisolm above. SX needs to either openly embrace team orders (rather then seeing RD and MM lie about it) or take measures to prevent them.

With the gap only 1 second between them it was a real possibility. In the series I saw Ryan had Marvin covered in most races and is the points leader.

Tomac is a little cunt.

MxDN vs Roczen? Threw it away
2015 Nationals? Threw it away
2017 SX? Threw it away......

I used to be a fan of his, and I was rooting for him to run down Dunge and make the points close.... but I will be disappointed if Ryan doesn't win this now.

I hope RD's podium speach goes like this....

"I'd really like to thank everyone involved in this championship. Red Bull KTM for helping me get through every round without a mechanical issue, and making sure my bike was dialed the way I wanted it at round one so I could earn points early while others struggled. Secondly, my trainer Aldon. Making sure I was fit early in the season to not suffer arm pump and loose valuable points, and mentally tough to make sure I didn't make costly mental errors when I was the sole points leader."

I am a fan of Tomac , I cant believe that he just said that . Come on Eli if rolls were reversed JG33 moves over and Eli would expect him to . I just lost a TON of respect for Eli .

its funny cause if i was KTM there would have been team orders 6 races ago . and no KTM rider would have been allowed beat RD , DV said the same .

Agreed.
I really can't believe so many people are upset at a teammate helping another teammate. It's mind boggling.

At some point Dungey will need vidungetards to get off his jock so he can start a family.

We have seen this year what happens when Dungey gets frustrated, Tomac in his head. He miss times jumps, gets out of rhythm, he jumped off the side of the track.... Tomac did what he needed to do to make sure Dungey has him in the back of his head and hope that he comes out out of rhythm one last time. As fragile an ego as Dungey has, it is a very real possibility it works. He knows Tomac is the faster racer. He knows he has to be above his game and hope Tomac is off his to win

I don't buy Ryan being able to pass Marvin without some help last week. From lap 11-21, Marvin's average lap was 54.65, worst being 56.009, which came on the lap right after he ran a 54.229. Maybe he made a mistake that lap, I don't remember, but other than that his worst for those laps was a 55.332. Dungey's average for the same span of laps was 54.9, with his worst being 55.993.

Then on lap 22, right after running a 55.02, Marvin runs a 56.007, 55.888, and a 59.188 to finish out the race. Even if you want to look at laps 19-21, Marvin's laps 54.04, 54.655, and 55.02 for a 54.57 average. So he followed those up with 3 laps where the best he could muster up was a 55.888? That's a tough sell.

So you went from "I used to be a fan of his" all the way to "Tomac is a cunt" in the space of one press conference statement that was likely a head-game comment? One of 2 things going on here: You don't know what a "fan" is, or you don't know what a "cunt" is...

Man! I just saw the press conference and wanted to see if you guys were talking about what Eli said. I'm a big Tomac fan but couldn't even finish watching the video. That was completely out of left field and not a characteristic of Tomac that has led me to pull for him. Damn, MM25 and RD didn't cause his arm pump the first 3 rounds and to go down last week. If he was in Dungeys position I don't think he does anything different. Maybe he's just trying to bait Dunge into a battle, I duno??
