Mreh, see what you want, that's what quite literally chapped Chad's ass, add the heat race comments, and there you have it.

Why is Chad whining about that? It looks like if anyone got in his way it's Musquin Bogle or Seely

NO....not retarded. I go to a local race and some dude starts whining because I wouldn't let him by , he's the first dude I'm gonna park when I get the chance. Now multiply that by about 100 times because there is a bunch of money on the line in the pro ranks. RD is an awesome guy , but he came across as a whiny bitch in that heat race. It was a fucking heat race! So yeah....I can totally see why Chad held his ass up.

I'll also say this....he didn't ruin the race either. There was no way in hell he was going to catch Eli.....so thank god Chad did it......made the main that much more exciting and it made sure the points tightened up.

I'm in the minority here.....But fuck yeah! Go Chad!
This is crazy talk man, insert Vince Friese or Justin Barcia and 98% of you on here would be calling them an asswipe who should be banned from racing. I get it dudes like Reed, but he was a lapper. If he's on the lead lap then I'm all for him racing Dungey and even bumping him, who gives a shit. But as a lapper, I think it's funny a lot of you guys think Chad got the last laugh. He's the one that probably feels like a chump today as he wasn't even in the race, he was a lapper who affected the lead guys.

I'd say Tomac probably wins that race either way but it doesn't make it ok or excusable, before Chad was a baby and started racing Dungey, the Dunge did get a little closer to Eli so who knows if he could have pressured him.

I like Reed. He is cool in my book. He races with emotion and that's why we love him. Hell, he can get the calm, cool headed Dungey to snap.

Now, Reed was a douche tonight because he robbed us of the opportunity to see ET3 pressured. Yeah, he probably would have won anyway, but supercross is mental and if you can't shake someone lap after lap it can get to you. Eli was not "chillin" with only a 1.5-2 sec lead. I would like to have seen Dungey's tenacity test Eli's fortitude.

From the AMA Rulebook:
4.17 Flags and Lights
It is the rider’s responsibility to be aware of their surroundings
at all times while on track. Safety is a main priority and the
riders must obey all official signals and directions given to
them. Any rider failing to do so may be penalized.
a. Solid Blue Flag:
1. Indicates you are about to be overtaken by faster riders.
2. When conditions allow, move out of the fast line.
3. Hold your line (don’t ride erratically) and do not impede the
faster riders progress.
4. Riders disregarding the blue flag may be black-flagged at
the discretion of Race Director.

Longtime fan of Reed, however:

1. Reed obviously and deliberately violated the rules as a payback to Dungey.

2. The Race Director, having failed spectacularly at exercising his discretion and black flagging Reed, should now issue a ruling disqualifying Reed from the race after the fact.

3. Reed should not be allowed to race Seattle an example to other riders for allowing his desire to give Dungey payback to become more important than interfering in the championship fight happening around him.

4. I believe that even if Reed had not deliberately and obviously interfered with Dungey, Tomac would have ramped it back up and kept the lead. This is completely irrelevant to what needs to be done with Reed, however.

5. Given the weak and inconsistent record of the officials in supercross in implementing the rules of the sport, I would be shocked if anything is done to Reed with regard to this incident.
How can you disqualify someone without the opportunity to adhere to a black flag? Did he intentionally ride the fastest race line? Yes. Did he do in a hazardous way? No.

The AMA/FIM did not throw the black flag. Where in the rules would you cite for grounds for disqualification? If they threw the black flag and ignored it, fine, disqualified, no issue. So, if we are disqualifying guys post-hoc because they ignored the blue flag, that's fine, put in an addendum or address to the riders as a whole.

Not interested in reading all the replies but I'm thinking everyone agrees that Reed was being a tool and should of been black flagged.

Mate, you're a lapper. Get your ass out of the way. It's that simple.

Reed held his line, consistent with the rule.

I don't see what he did wrong.
Idk what rulebook you saw, but here is a screenshot of the 2017 supercross official rulebook:

No, what he meant was, you mess with the bull you get the horns. Chad was racing hard in the heat race and Dungey threw a fit about it. Yeah it may just be a heat race but these dudes are fighting for results, gate pick, exposure, and whatever else it may be. Don't talk shit about a guy in a interview and expect everything to be all unicorns and rainbows next time you come together on the track.
That's the whole point. Reed wasn't coming together with Dungey, Reed was way behind him. These fits should be resolved by racing, not roadblocking

I have seen the still shots of Dungey leaning on Reed a bit off the start, so what that happens in just about every single SX start...riders are ALWAYS jostling for position...you are kidding me if that is meant to be one of the excuses as to why Reed did what he did later on in the race....I mean seriously?!?!?!?

My guess is that Chad publicly apologises for this.
He doesn't need fans defending this shitty behaviour.
As a long term fan of Chad Im honestly expecting/hoping he gets in front of this.

If he doesn't expect he'll be rightly booed at the next races and what fun is that for a dude in the final years of their career?

I don't think Reed was in the right at all but to me it's almost as if Dungey wanted that to effect the race so he had a reason as to why he didn't win. I mean after half a lap a monkey could realize Chad wasn't moving and if you want to get around him you're going to have to make something happen, like Tomac, Kenny or RV would have done every time over. I just don't understand how you follow directly behind a guy for multiple laps and expect to go around him, I know Reed should have moved over but Dungey did absolutely nothing to help his case. On the bright side Dungey seemed little fired up last night when he was catching Tomac, and I think he's ready to put up a better fight for this title. Should be interesting.
Agreed

In now way do I think what reed did was morally right, but I also think that if dungey had a real hunger for this championship he would have made easy work of reed and passed him in multiple sections of the track.

It was wrong of Reed and he probably should apologise publicly to set a good example for young kids. But I also think dungey sooking on TV about the heat race was kinda pathetic to. Rubbing is racing. Let's just hope the next few rounds shows for some good battles, uninterrupted!

Dungey has done that many times. Leaning on people when he's not really in position to do so, it's often how he manages to turn a terrible jump into a half decent start, but there's been a few times where it could so easily have gone the other way. Everyone else managed to not elbow a guy in the back constantly all the way down the start straight. That incident alone was probably not enough to make Reed do what he did, if he was that pissed about it he would've just taken Dungey down in the heat. Dungey's comments definitely wound him up and added fuel to the fire. When you're in a close title fight, the last thing you should do is make any enemies out there. Reed shouldn't have done what he did, Dungey needs to stop whining and just get on with it

How often do you mention Dungey isn't aggressive? I guess leaning on people is something different then? Hmmm, so confusing, all this "convenient logic" people wanna use.Whistling

Ok. So From now on any one who ever gets lent on during the start of a race is now entitled to ignore th blue flag rule - e.g. Rule number 2 and block the "leaner" when they are lapped in a race out of spite / vengeance. Makes good sense. Hope you run the sport one day.

For the record Reed is a douche and he lost a lot of respect from me. He needs to leave the sport before he pulls it down any further.
