Nice number and much better reason running. I picked 22 as a kid for youth sports (soccer/basketball/football), because it was my birthday (2/2). When I got into racing, I ran 22 for about 8 years, then noticed Kiedrowski added a 7 to his local number when he went to the Nationals (762). I thought it looked cool. Several years later, 722 was born on my new '94 KX250.

Edit: Oh yeah, that and a number of other racers were running 22 including the best man in my wedding! He has 11 years seniority, so that helped in adding the 7 too too! Smile

It was 77 growing up (year I was born) then my first NMA amateur number was 378.....which was also the number on my dads world war 2 biplane. Liked it so much it just stuck.

I was 317 which was my parents house address, but then a friend gave me some leftover graphics from the JDR KTM team. #205 Savatgy's old number, stuck with it since then.

I have run 411 since 2001, I could not get a 2 digit number that year so chose a 3 digit number that was easy to fit on number plates , also 4th and 11th was the places I was running when I had my two big crashes in the years previous to that, it just stuck as I have not had a national number since ,

My first number when I started racing was 19 then I saw an old picture of my dads maico back when he raced and he ran 291 and I've been running that ever sense

When I was younger I tried to be 324(birthday) and it was taken as was 325. 326 was open and it stuck. Good old AIM on 56k.

#64 was my national number back in 1978 when I won some great races.
Coming back to race vintage Motocross in 2005 #64 was already taken so just stuck a one in front.....
Funny story my national number year before was #69, which created many a critic comment!

I used to reply how I liked it, because if you crashed , it read the same upside down!Laughing Laughing Laughing

I started out with 289 it was the beginning three numbers of our home phone when I was a kid. Then later on I requested a 6 or a 2 and they gave me 62 so its been on there ever since but since my sons b day is 713 I want to start running that.

Back in the mid-1980s, FMC assigned me #50. When I got back into it back in 2012 I had just turned 50, so went with that again. Every year now I change it on my birthday. Currently I'm 55y. I added the "y" about 3 years ago when someone asked me why I had the number I had. Now when they ask "Why are you 55y?" I say "y not?"

121....NMA assigned as permanent in 84, as long as it was 3 digits. Dad was getting tired of changing numbers multiple times a year, so we just added a 1 to my National number which was 12. 121 to this day.

56 was my older cousins high school football number. My aunt and uncle got me a matching jersey (I was around 8 years old) to wear to the games. I used that number when I played lacrosse. 56 wasn't available when I started racing but 656 was. Been running it ever since. I did switch it one year to 256. It was the worst year I ever had racing. I blamed the number and went back to 656.

23 was an available number in our state series so I grabbed it a about 10 years ago. Been a good number to me actually since I've had a decent amount of success with it.

I have ran a ton of different numbers over the years as I have never been stuck in just one series or style of racing. Been 290, 146, 31, 25, 8, 159, 45, and a few other I forget.

Went to my first BMX race and did not have a number plate so the sign up lady wrote 46 on a paper plate . I have ran that number ever since .

38 - My first 2 years I had 55, because 5 is my favorite number. Switched because someone told me that I was supposed to use the last digits of my AMA number that ends in 238. I didn't like the look of 3 numbers, so I dropped the 2.

In 1982 I started racing and bought a friends RM250. I wanted a number that meant something to me. I had proposed to my girlfriend and we picked a date for the wedding. September 24th. I wanted a three digit number and thought about 924 but didn't like it. I swapped it around to 249 and liked it. Been that number ever since. Yes, still married to the same girl and she still puts up with me riding dirt bikes every weekend!
