The connector is outside the tank, I guess u mean water gets in the connector? Somebody being careless with a pressure washer perhaps . I've washed my 14 many times without any problem whatsoever. I don't bury the sprayer into the fuel pump connector though lol. Even if it was the air box, u still don't get crazy with the pressure washer in that area haha. Along with all the bearing areas and any other electrical connections on any bike really. Even two strokes

yeah i mean it's easier on that bike to get water into it directly, i know some people did not care of it and went at it with pressure washers and the bike started cutting out so i just think is nice that yamaha added a little plastic extension over it that's all

Now all we need is a new 2 stroke 250 and maybe an all new yz150 in that frame. That would be killer.

...so when do we usually hear about the 250F? Will it be the same bike, smaller motor, no e-start?

I never said there are no changes, but there are no drastic changes. None of that changes will bring big weight cuts, so I would assume that the new model will probably have the same weight.

Lol. You CANNOT tell that from those pictures. An entirely new chassis/swingarm aren't drastic? LOL.
These days a new frame and swingarm don't matter. Show them the front fender and then they'll decide if it's worth 9K. Grinning

Once you are accustomed to hydraulic clutch you don't want to go back to cable clutch. Clutch feel stays always consistent and it's much more lighter pull and almost maintenance free.

I heard MXA thinks it's a good bike but you need to add a tooth to the rear.

I was on KTMs for 7 years and also had a Husky 450 supermoto at that time. Now I'm back on a Yamaha with a cable clutch. It really isn't a big deal, and at least I don't have to deal with leaky slave cylinders anymore.

A Works Connection elite clutch perch is a wonderful thing.

True. After many years on KTM's I thought I'd miss the hydro clutch. In a year and a half on my yz I haven't missed it at all.

I've been riding a '17 RMZ450: the clutch and gearbox are as good as any and better than most.

Yes, but I heard on a pod-cast that you're all "out of phase"...

You didn't even rate the Yamaha 250F as fastest, Bro!?

If you put a Midwest mountain engineering clutch lever on a OEM hydro clutch, its basically cheating.

Similar to the yellow Suzuki wheels. That is reserved for the factory team. Have to go with the masses so black it is

I do like the shroud design and the seat hurts my butt just looking at it. Is the front fender...Cycra ?

if yamaha follow the same production plan as honda you should see the 2018 yz450f updates on the 2019 yz250f ,
just like we will probably see the 2018 crf250 have the 2017 crf450 updates .

Looks like they took cycras powerflow plastics and made it their own. Thinner shrouds, better airflow, less debris gets into the filter.... good choice. The gas tank cover has vents cut into it, the shrouds are 1 piece, thinner, and better airflow.

Heres some Cycra powerflow plastics for reference.

1 piece shroud

Gas tank vents

I do like that they aren't as beefy as the Cycra plastics and are cut smaller in a few places. Looks great.
