Jim is the better of the two. The only critique I have is he sometimes asks some off the wall or just oddball questions but that's probably from too many hits to the head in his hayday haha. Good dude and very knowledgeable of the sport and all it's components. Bowyer seems like a nice guy but do not for the life of me understand why he speaks so much on air. Not a expert on supercross or anything so why are we getting his analysis of technical information and race or practice situations? That's jims job and hollywood kicks ass at it. I'd rather see a hot chick who speaks well or at least real broadcaster throwing it to jim for the pro analysis. also why does bowyer first get to ask all the riders a question at the beginning of the press conferences? Couldn't he just go straight to questions to give the actual press more time with the riders?

Results are in, Hollywood's approval rating on here is about 90%. Not too shabby!

Jim Holley seems like a nice guy, but his lack having a even a mediocre broadcast voice or any broadcast skills is painful to listen to. He regularly pronounces riders names wrong and brings little insight to the program. Am I the only one that finds the broadcast much better with the volume off?
Im right there with you. Seems like an awesome guy, but he's the reason I stopped watching SX live last year. Just seems like he's winging it all the time, and he's one of those guys that I think if a non moto person heard him, they'd think the sport is a joke.

Best part about Race Day Live is when they let Ralph and Emig take over for the 2nd A group.

Hollywood is awesome at his job, hence why he's had it so long. An awesome guy, knowledgeable of the sport, friendly with all of the riders, AND, he dont give a fuck what any of you negatively think of him...and that is a fact!

That's exactly right. To the few of us here who are being unbiased and objective, the whole program is amateur hour and reflects poorly on the sport. While RDL is side program for prime race broadcast, it still should be a high quality broadcast with skilled commentators. Bromance or not, Jim Holley doesn't have what it takes.

99% of the comments to improve RDL are about showing the damned bikes during the broadcast. 2. Keeping the cameras on top riders on a fast lap too. 3. Get it right technically. Hollywood is far from being an issue.

Didn't Jim help start the live practice we get to enjoy?
Jim has done so much for riders that he deserves the spot to talk moto.
I want all commentators to stop using the word "came". They use it incorrectly every time. Lol"Jimmy Stewart has came to win tonight." No

Jim Holley could throw a pool chair 50 yards! And he has seen AND done it all.
Think about that before you run your mouth....

The gentleman has a place in this sport as long as he wants. A true pioneer. We should be thanking the man.

He brings a lot to the table, but damn, he needs a speech coach...

There, uh, uh, uh, uh, there, uh, uh.... Almost every sentence has "uh" in it and it drives me nuts... Jeff Emig had a speech coach and he's much improved over the years...

Finally a few people that understand where I'm coming from. I'm not suggesting Jim doesn't have a place in the sport or hasn't earned the right. He just doesn't belong in a commentating or interview type role unless he can do and succeed in what Emig has done.

Jim may have earned the opportunity and has the background and knowledge, but he certainly does not have the skills to keep the gig in my view.
We heard you the first time. You're up to what...three times of saying the same thing?

No shit, it's racedaylive get over it. If you absolutely need someone trained for media to listen to a racing broadcast then fair enough. A day program for practice though? I'll take a guy with some history and knowledge over a trained Ralph or Sal xgames dude trained to entertain an audience.

Just a retort to the repeated comments boss that Jim is incapable and the implication that I and others who disagreed with this winer use chainsaws to cut our hair. Jim is one of the only reasons I tune in to RDL, cause clearly the camera direction and resolution quality blows, and I'm a modern day Hitachi 18v cordless hedger kind of guy. Cool
