Profession: HVAC parts and equipment sales
Current Ride: 2014 YZ450, 98 YZ250, 05 KX250, 05 KX250F and soon an 82 YZ125
Riding accomplishment: Any time I get to go home safe and in one piece from riding/racing and the few times I've got 1-1 on race day.
Misc: Married for 4 1/2 years and have 2 kids, 4 year old daughter and 10 month old son. I love everything moto. I'm 3rd generation rider/racer. My grandfather finished 3rd in the first ever Barstow to Vegas and finished with a dislocated shoulder. He would have won it had he not crashed, haha. My dad still hauls ass at 52 years old! I'm faster for about 2 laps then I hit a wall hard! Lol. I could talk moto for hours and not get tired of it. I also like to get out and go shooting whenever I get the chance. I've met a few people from Vital so far, and they have all been awesome! So anyone who's anywhere near me, let's get together and put in some motos!

Started riding in 1970
Discovered Ocotillo Wells in 1983, got hooked on that place and have been making multiple trips every year since.
Started racing in 1993 at age 34. (Late bloomer) Started out racing with REM when it was at Carlsbad and got hooked. Joined the over the hill gang and started racing with them, then joined the oldtimers when I turned 40 (18 yeas ago faawk...)
Favorite rider ? K-Dub
Current bike 05' YZ 250.
Been a self employed poolman since 1980.
Accomplishments ? Got my wife hooked on dirtbikes, and raised both kids riding, racing and camping with other family's and kids in the desert. My kids are 25 and 28 now and we still all ride together. I've done some other shit but nothing as cool as that Cool As far as my screen name here, I'm on a couple of the old guy boards as "Poolio", an oldtimer buddy called me that one time and it kind of stuck. When I joined in here I didn't want a work related name, and then I figured out that even though I new most everyone on the other boards, I didn't know anyone here, I was just some dude.... Wink Nothing more to see here. Next...

ps. even after all these little introductions we're still gonna tell each other to FO and go EAD, you know that right ? Laughing

Been working since 14 to pay for bikes, and parts and race fees. Started winning B races at amateur nationals and realized I didnt want to take it that serious plus family just didn't have money to keep me on bikes then. I was nearly 6' 4" by the age of 13 so i already knew i was too big to go pro. Became youngest sworn police officer in the state two years ago, hate the people i work with. Love the job. Now im shipping off to basic in the coast guard at the end of the month.

Havent raced since 2013 I believe. Don't miss it a bit. I just love to ride.
Good luck in the coast Guard, that's a very noble and brave occupation!

I've seen a few posts today talking about how savage this forum has gotten over the last few weeks and I couldn't agree more. There have been some cut throat comments lately and we all just need to chill and be civilized in talking about the sport we love. So I figured I would formally introduce myself in an attempt to humanize this person that I am on there interwebs.

My favorite rider in this sport is EVERYBODY who is racing pro!
I went to school for business and now own a bike shop
Worked at Yoshimura R&D for 10 years
My great grand father is (Michio Suzuki) yes the man who founded the company Suzuki back when they were not a motor company
My father Toshiaki Suzuki was son of Shunzo Suzuki. I believe my dad has a couple brothers and sisters, kinda complicated in Japanese families. My dad isn't too high on telling me all the family drama...
My riding accomplishment was finishing the Adelanto gp, I wasn't much of a racer as it wasn't something I was good at. I'm more of a soul rider
My life today is all about my wife and 3 kids nothing else matters!! Although I love coming on here to read all the juicy gossip

Jimmy (As you wouldn't be able to pronounce my polish name correctly anyway Smile )
27 years young
Favorite riders: Gajser, Herlings, Villopoto, Kenny, Ciancarulo, Dungey. I have mad respect for all of the riders.
Ride since: 2013
First and current ride: 2007 RMZ250
Occupation: Sales rep, aerospace dept.
Riding accomplishements: Not ghostriding that pos bike from the cliff.
Seriously though, I think that motocross pretty much saved my life. Before it was living for friday to spend time with friends while drinking and smoking. Right now, even though I know I will never be a pro I spend 5 days a week working out or running, just to be able to ride that pos bike for longer (if it starts). Tongue
Seriosly though, with me and my Zook it's a love-hate relationship. I feel great on that bike, but every time I go out to ride something breaks. I know she's old, I'll replace her with something fresher Smile
Misc: I'm a huge animal lover and my swiss shepherd is the love of my life.

That's a great thread, pleasure to meet you guys!

Yep, over the last 16 years, I've lived in 3 different places in this country and met some amazing people through moto and moto forums.
But I still don't get what happens to soms people when they get behind a keyboard.
I'm also buddies with Bruce372 as well as a few other on here. Bruce and I just met up (albeit for a short time) at the Oakland sx. I'm from Chicago so just a random meeting but great to see an old friend.

Hooolllyyyy crap. I wake up and this thread has exploded. Freaking DV12 and the great grandson of the founder of Suzuki has responded!? Freaking sick! All you guys sound like awesome people and I love hearing what everyone does and a little back ground. You older gentlemen are my inspiration to stay hooked up with this sport forever. This is great!!

Favorite Rider: Too many to list! Any Aussie on the World Stage, if I had to pick one, Hard to go past Chad Reed!

Profession: Back working fulltime in a warehouse for the past 12 months. Was working for myself including updating and looking after the day to day online news on the Aussie moto site Fullnoise.com.au, freelancing for Aussie Mag Dirt Action and Freelance Moto, Off-Road and SX Photography here in Aus.

Still working on the side at Fullnoise.com.au and now putting 20 pages of news and features for Dirt Action magazine here in Aus each month.

Waiting for the day I get the call / Email from Vital to supply images from an Aussie event Wink

Current Ride: None! My RM-Z450 is at a local dealer for sale, working on getting a new bike as we speak.

Riding accomplishment: No claims to fame! Will ride or race just about any event I can get my bike to. Mainly motocross, but enjoy Off-Road races, favorite race. The Hattah Desert race. A 8 lap race around a 40km track that has a lot of deep sand, a few wide open straights and some epic single trail. (More like five laps over four hours for myself Smile )

Misc: Huge moto, dirt bike fan, and pretty grateful to have had some of the opportunities I have had in the moto industry here in Aus. Now have a young son that is getting into riding, about to buy his third bike (as soon as my bike sells)

Also have just gotten into MTB riding in the past 12 months, first event coming up on a few weeks.

Also post way to much on Moto Forums!

Kidding! Here's the truth below.

Name: John (my friends, for some reason, call me Johnny D. Never asked for that, but there it is.)

Age: 55

Profession: Quality Assurance currently assigned to the Super Hornet PMI & MOD program, but I retire this year and can't wait.

Favorite Rider(s): I like them all. They entertain us by putting their health on the line for glory, money and the thrill of victory. What's not to like? I will admit to being partial to Slipdog, Jeffbro, Peely, Cambro and a bunch of you Vital bros.

Miscellaneous: Served 7 years active duty in Navy helicopters (SH-3s). Married for 33 years. Two fine sons. One rides pretty good. I got my first, first-place trophy last year in a "Vet Int" race. I started racing many years ago, and actually led a few races, but always had something strange happen. Once, a flat tire. Another time I had assembled my handlebar clamps with the dot towards me...didn't work. Had the lead another time and got T-boned.

My first bike was a 1974 YZ80. My current bike is a 2013 YZ250 that I've spent so much money on that my wife is losing her patience!

Final note: DV12, I remember some nuts on here saying you were a "never was." Reading your accomplishments - of which I was only partially aware - should end that stupid statement pretty quick.

Great idea for a topic, hopefully a lot of the regulars will chime in. A lot of good people on this forum, good people that I sometimes agree with and some times don't Smile Great place for a moto fix between rides.

Winning 2010 British 450 National series.
