I'll take a heads cam Corvette Z06 any day over all the exotics.
Finally someone that speaks my language lol. Was hoping someone would chime in. Exotics are overrated.

The new hyper-cars are if anything UNDERrated. The performance is unreal. I posted in the 'Ballin' thread :

"Went for a ride recently in Ferrari's new hyper car the LaFerrari.

Shite, that thing is scarry fast!! We were rolling at around 35, my friend hits it and in a little over a sec and you're past 90. With all the traction control, ground effects and 950 horses things happen in a really big hurry. I'll admit I had the Paul Walker thing in the back of my mind.

Then we roll up to a red light and I can't hear the engine anymore. "You effing stalled it?" I ask. Nope. He had switched it back to street mode and it quietly shut the V12 down and was on the electric motor. After that horsepower / speed blast we were sitting all innocent-like at the light. Har!

https://youtu.be/CaC3jJgtDOE

Listen to that sweet music!
"

The other two hyper-cars are the Porsche 918 and McLaren P1.

I like my 2015 Yellow C7 Z07 pictured earlier in this thread enough that I ordered a 2017 Z06 in late July. It's being built next week and I'll have it in about 3 weeks. Sort of pissed as my last three vettes have been yellow like the Corvette C7.R race team cars. And my favorite color combo is yellow and black. GM changed the yellow in 2016 to what most feel is a terrible pale, pastel easter egg yellow. It's so bad I just couldn't bring myself to buy it. To show GM I spoke with my wallet and am getting a red one outfitted exactly as pictured here.....

Are you talking looks....or performance? Because there are no competitive Porsche's in any GT3 world class races right now. In the past...yes. Now days , if you want to talk about actual performance , then the Porsche is one of many , many different options as far as racing goes....just not the 1st and best choice.

July 2016.....there are 45 different cars allowed for GT3 competition. Rarely do you ever see a Porshe even in a serious GT3 scheduled race , let alone at the front. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Group_GT3

So now are we talking Performance here....or are we all going by " What looks the coolest to you ". Going to any big time GT3 race and calling a Nissan GTR or an Audi R8 " Junk "....means either you're new to the sport or completely clueless.
Jeffro you constantly surprise me, next time we see each other we need to talk cars.

Surprised there's not more love shown for the C7 Z06 Corvette. The only thing quicker around a road course than it are the La Ferrari, Porsche 918 or McLaren P1 which all cost about 15 - 20x the cost of the Z06. The ACR is quicker but not really a street car. I really enjoy mine:

The new vette is a great car for the money. But many issues for track day stuff so those track time claims are really silly. Putting it in the same catagory as a 918, p1, or la Ferrari is funny, or even a Gt3rs. Not raining on your parade because for the money its unbeatable I think. Nice car.

Yeah for sure OB!! One of my other passions is 4 wheel onroad racing. Huge fan of all the GT3 stuff , along with Aussie Super V8's and Brazilian V8's. I dig the open wheel stuff , but like in F1 , it gets boring seeing the same 2 or 3 guys win. Aussie V8's usually have 25 guys on the line and about 22 of them have won before....makes it real interesting. I do like watching the Indy cars as well , as you never really know who will win there either.

Hope you're well buddy!

I never said it was in the same league as the La Ferrari, P1 or 918. I said quite the opposite and that they are in a different league. Also. I race several cars at a semi professional level and push my Z06 hard on the track. Never a heat issue even in hot weather. My car is a manual and the issues some experience are in the auto cars.

Regarding the GT3 RS it's not even a race. The Corvette is significantly faster around a road course with the same driver on the same day. Well documented in all the car magazines. Hell, the GT3 is quicker than the GT3 RS. again, fact, not my opinion. Porsche blew it on the GT3 RS as it's not a good car. The GT3 on the other hand is sweet.

P cars are great but Porsche doesn't build one that can run with the Z06 other than the 918.

For the record I'm a P car fan. Here's the one I race across the country in the National PCA series in GT1.

Well then, I would not dispute your first hand knowledge to my professional b.s. You are a lucky man. My favorite Porker ever made, last year gt2rs. No auto bs, no all wheel drive crap, just rawness. This is one from my day job sorry I edited this pic back when I took it. But I am not agreeing that a z06 can out lap a gt3rs CONSISTENLY around a road course. And it appears that you should know that.

ob,

Is that your GT2 RS? If so, I'm envious. Truly amazing machine. A masterpiece.

Regarding the caveat "for the money" people use is really not necessary when discussing the current Corvette. It's a better car for any money. IF the Z06, GT3 and GT3RS where priced identical and I got to pick one I'd take the Z06. Hard to describe what 650 HP and 650 ft-lbs torque is like. It's vicious. Fit and finish is also very close to P car level. What is impressive is the way the P cars retain value.

I've significant track time in all three and the Z06 turns significantly faster lap times.

Lol no I wish I could afford a gt2rs, even if I could it would suck because driving it would hurt the apreciation and that is going tru da roof! And not driving it would totally suck.
And I think your zo6 is awesome. But as a track car I am not so sure.
I am not the only person that uses for the money when referring to a zo6, and it's not derogatory.
That pic is from my day job.
I'm envious of you my man. Truly

Jeffro is hung up on a Nissan and track times.
Cool car but Seriously, do you think when people buy high end cars they give two shits about track times?
You can go to any luxury car dealer and find most have never seen more than hughway speeds when they download the diagnostic data.

Can you imagine this broad buying a car?
Hi. My Dad is Mr. F1. We grew up at every F1 track in the world.

Mr. Dealer man, Can you give me track data for this and these other cars before I hand you my black card for this car?
Oh, and can they drop another off at my mansion in L.A. also? I need it there today because after this Im getting on my Dassault Falcon for a trip.

You're crazy. I don't know if this thread is just talking about street cars or race cars...or both? As far as being super competitive , the Nissan GTR and Audi R8 are very , very competitive. I mean were talking about street muscle right? Anyways.....it's to each one's perception of what they would like to drive.

I find it funny that some say he should buy a Koenigsegg, LaFerrari etc.
Those cars cost over 1 million. Ken Roczens net worth is estimated to be around $ 2,5 million.
That explains why he bought an R8. Cause its the cheap!

And how can you guys compare race cars..
Jesus christ...

Go look at Nurburgring laptimes instead.
But there's no denying GT-R is faster then most cars. Its top 5 fastest production car on the ring.
You can also buy a Radical SR8, cheaper then Ferrari's etc, and it does under 7 minute laptimes on the ring, if ur skilled enough :D

I hope you're kidding... First off, I'm talking about street cars, not the ones that are nothing like their street counterparts. Pretty sure the R8 GTLM is RWD even... I'm talking about road cars. Of course it's different in racing. Even then... Do you watch Le Mans? Do you watch GTLM OR GTD? Porsche has a tendency of KILLING it, with 2 less cylinders and 2 less turbochargers than ferrari, and also 4 less cylinders than audi or Lamborghini. You're out of your damn mind
