I am going to Red Bud this Saturday. I have never been to an outdoor before so what can I expect? What time should we get there? How long is the line up to get in? And where is the best place to sit to see the most action. Been wanting to go for a long time and am looking forward to it. Should be a great day for the races.

A light colored umbrella that you can strap to your chair is easier than an ezup which they may not allow ezup ,dont know that info.

Practice will start around 8:30am. If you don't care to see practice/qualifying I would still get there well before the races start to avoid any long lines, which there will be. Maybe get there around 10 or so. When the link comes available towards the end of the week you'll be able to see the schedule.

I prefer to sit on the hillside in front of the sand whoop section that faces the north side of the track. In addition to the whoops, which are fun to watch, you can also see Larocco's Leap, a huge tabletop, and the finish line tabletop. I would also recommend walking over to the other side to watch a start and also walking down toward the bottom of the ski jump and watching that section after a start. But we always put our chairs and cooler on the hillside in front of the whoops.

Have fun!

A lot of you ask me. Really took over some good areas. Pricing is nuts too. The VIP price doesn't even include tickets.

Do yourself a favor and get there plenty early, Redddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd Buddddddddddddddddddddddddddd!!!!!!!!! is moto done perfectly by the Ritchie family. Do you have a group going or just you? If you have a group you can set up a home base on either the south or north hillside with chairs, coolers, etc. Then you can be mobile from there which you will want to do because you will want to wander and watch from many different vantage points because there are so many great spots to watch from. I walk around during practices and watch from all over. I usually watch two of the motos on the north side of the track where the leap and the sand whoops are and the other two motos on the south side of the track where the ski jump and the Monza turn are. I always have both a full size cooler and a 12 pack size with a strap that I can keep beer and water in while I hike around. If it is just you or you and one other person can leave your big cooler in the vehicle and hike back to it for a refill if need be. They have decent food to eat during the day if you don't want to hassle with that. There is a special trackside parking area on the south end that costs extra to go up into and you usually have to be there extra early to get into but it is convenient to get your vehicle up in there and we usually bring a grille and sometimes cook after the races are over and let the crowd disperse. Most of all have fun because Redddddddddddddddddddddd Budddddddddddddddddddd!!!!! is the BOMB!

It has gotten worse for sure. I wish they would back the damn hospitality tent away from the fence and still leave room for the regular joe to walk in front of it. If I had my druthers they would tear down that frigging grandstand at the top of the Monza turn also but don't get me started!

How does weekend parking work there? My dad works for Fram and he'll be up there with a small crew from Thurs-Sun but I won't make it up until Friday evening. They've got a motorhome and truck+trailer and I'm just gonna crash in the trailer.

From the looks of it, I need to buy a camping pass? I don't mind..just want to be prepared when I show up.

By far the best outdoor national I have attended. If you can go Friday and watch the amateur race under the lights. The fans are some of the best action over the 4th of July weekend. Saturday get their at 7 am and walk around and enjoy the view. Great racing and great fans and you will not regret taking in the whole day.

You'll have to read the parking/camping rules on their website. I believe a large lot is $90 plus $30 for extra vehicle. Only one extra vehicle is allowed. He would have to buy that then give you the extra car pass or meet you at the gate with the car pass. But it sounds like he already has an extra vehicle so I think you'll have to pay for a small lot yourself. Those cost $65.

Be there Friday night. The races on the night track are the best! Most two strokes you will ever see in one place these days. The beginner/ novice classes are sensational!
Extra entertainment: Have yourself and your buddies pick different riders and place bets on each race.

If you are there to party, you park out of lot B and walk over. If you are there to be black out drunk, hungover, and not sleep, then you park in lot B. Just be sure it's not going to be 110 degrees on Saturday before you go that route.

They don't let you in the B lot anymore if you're not camping in the B lot.

Made this mistake last year - we were commuting in from the Chicago area, which is on central time... Michigan is on eastern time... We missed a LOT of qualifying.

I commute from around Rockford IL.. Have to leave around 3:30-4am to get there early enough but it's well worth it!

@OP - If you're only going for Saturday, go early and use the "back" parking lot behind the pro pits. Way easier to get into and way less crowded going in, plus you avoid the town of Buchanan and it's easier to get out. I get there 7-7:30AM and walk around during practice then find spots to watch motos. Air horns and screams of REDDDDDDDD BUUDDDDDDD are the two universal languages of the weekend!

First 250 A practice park your ass right next to the takeoff of the leap about 5ft from the lip. The first guy to huck it is always something to see. One year we watched JG33 send it first lap on his crf250 just flat out WFO all the way up the face. And I also highly suggest the launch pad by the American flag. You will see some really stupid big scrubs if you spend enough time there. Oh and most importantly beer, bring lots and lots of beer.

So my pops sent my passes over - it's a First Class Zone exchange ticket? It says I have to take it to Rider Services between Fri 9-5 and Sat 7-2.. looks like I might be leaving the house pretty early Saturday morning!
