Morgan sent this story to me as a private text message. She did not intend to share this story to anyone, but to let me know what happened.. I am the one who posted her story on our club Facebook page. I've known Morgan since she was one year old. I know her character quite well. She would never make up a story like this.
Morgan has been our 30-second board girl at Hangtown for several years now. She is also a waitress. No. This is not her career. She is, in fact, a college student at CSU Sacramento. And she is quite intelligent. She had no intention to make this public, so please don't trash her.
Her karma statement could have been worded a bit softer, but she was upset. I didn't post it to call out anyone specifically as I respect all teams and riders. What is most valid here is that riders and teams are in the public eye, and their behaviors can cast a poor light on themselves personally, on their team, and on their sponsors.
I am sure any and all people associated with this team did not intend to behave like this. Congratulations to the rider and owner for taking the overall at Hangtown.

Comparing a waiter or waitress to a war hero? How the hell do you know he or she isn't a war hero? A lot of them come home to low paying jobs. Hard to believe that people on a MX message board of all places come off as such entitled little fuggers.

This isn't the 70s or 80s anymore, actions have sometimes instantaneous consequences, and the actions of a top team in the area of an event will hurt the local promoter more than anyone. Nobody is going to not send their cylinder to Mitch because of something that happened at a Hooters but the next team might think more about their actions because of something they read.

I don't think it was fair for her to call out just Joey and Mitch when it could have been any of the 18 other guys who were in the party causing most of the havoc. That being said, acting like a group of toddlers is not acceptable even at Hooters. I understand emotions were running high because of finally something going right for the PC team, but one of the senior crew members should have kept the party in line.
Good thing that waitress did not have to put up with myself and my friends antics. It would make what she says PC did look like not a big thing

There were a few misunderstandings from both sides. Morgan shared her experience and Mitch Payton has clarified what happened and has made everything right, even taking responsibility for the actions of others not associated with his team - a classy move. Now let's get back to racing.
