I completely admit that what I'm about to say is very shallow and could very well be wrong, but when I read that post from fly360, I couldn't help but think they probably glazed over some fine print in whatever contract they had. I know grammar isn't always the best indicator if intelligence, but it sure helps give the impression that you give a damn about the details.

Hard to tell the true story considering all we can see is an illiterate post from one side.

Monster are pretty unlikely to ever release a PR on it...

It does raise suspicions though - GoPro are really really struggling, and it wouldn't surprise me if someone spoke to someone else and had them 'disappear'.

If they are too stubborn to change the logo colours on the Helmet and Jersey then they obviously can't value the deal much.

Be interesting to see how the contract stands in regards to money paid back for exiting the contract - I'd be surprised if they could do that and get any money back...

Exactly. Why the hell would it matter. Monster makes it all happen for us but this is beyond BS.

I'm not going to throw Monster under the bus; but, I think this IS a mistake.

As for the color? The Green Claw-mark came waaaaaaay after Kawasaki had run the bright green color...and Mopar ran it in the early '70s. I know, I painted my bicycle "bug green" in 1973.

Unless there's more to it than the color (& there may very well be!)...

This IS a Mistake.
'70 was the first year of Mopar's high impact colors. Sublime/lime light, Sassy grass green/green-go. They brought Sublime back in 2015, it looks good on the Scat Packs!

It seems to me to be an issue where 360 saw an opportunity to bail from the CR22 contract instead of fighting it. Not too many moto guys are clamoring to get one of their cameras. Padderton probably saw the deal with Reed was not the investment he was hoping for and Monster coming in gave him the opportunity to back out and stop the bleeding of cash.
Reading his little rant, i see a ceo of a company that is bleeding money and doing what he can to heal the wounds and not die off. Some of you are a little short sighted, getting pissy with Monster and not looking at 360 in this.

So this is just about the flo color green?

I'm not sure how a company could contract for a color but maybe they had the foresight to include it. If they did they are pretty smart

I don't think this will be demise of the 360 fly, if that is what you are suggesting. Even if it was, there are other 360 degree view action cams coming, it will certainly be a thing in the near future I think.

And the grammar in that statement was cringe-worthy. Even Clippy could have solved that.

The fact that Reed hasn't said anything about it on social media is surprising to me.

Seems like Monster are only worried about it on the Jersey and Helmet - why can't they just use a different colour decal? It's not like it's going to take away from any exposure...

Monster sponsors so many riders and factory teams that it's hard to get mad at them. We want riders to make more money and we want more teams, but without monster this sport could be struggling. Main reason Reed even has a factory ride right now is because of Monster.

Back in the late 80's Kawasaki changed the rules for contingency payments. They said that a rider could not change the stock colors and Kawasaki logos on the bike. Really pissed of a few aftermarket companies and riders in 89 i was forced to run a stock seat cover and ended up losing sponsorship from CEET racing. Even though I still used there stiff seat foam without a cover with there logo the canceled rider contracts necause they could not showcase there product.

And this why Reed has not said anything he gets more from Monster Energy that Fly360.

I don't know the entire story but this should give an indicator of how much monster gives a shit about the sport.

Glad Monster has cleared that up. I went to buy a can of Monster and almost accidentally bought a camera.

F Monster and any other sponsors who prevent others investing in Moto.

Monster makes it all happen for them. If they weren't getting value for their dollar, they would drop the sport in a second.

I completely admit that what I'm about to say is very shallow and could very well be wrong, but when I read that post from fly360, I couldn't help but think they probably glazed over some fine print in whatever contract they had. Nope, I agree. I first read it and thought this was bad coming from a 360 rep, but from the CEO? The significance is that this type of grammar, misspelling, etc. is that it reduces the CEO's credibility. Everything else moving forward is suspect. The CEO is supposed to be where the buck stops,as far as company decisons, and "fine print" translation goes. Attention to detail is not there with the person that is supposed to be the one who is the most responsible for it, therefore, any comments made moving forward are subject to doubt and how do we know that anything he is saying is correct?

That is how I see it too. A color issue with the main sponsor = no big deal, just change colors to make a special edition. Simple. Whining about it: not cool. This level of grammar as a CEO official statement: not cool. Blaming others for pulling out, not cool. What amaze me is it is actually coming from a start up that can be worth a few hundred million dollars, or a couple billion, based on the technlogy potential they have developed.

Monster energy: pretty cool branding. Monster girls: pretty cool. The millions $ they put in the sport, really cool.

I am happy such sponsors are in this sport. The teen or old boys bitching contest is amazing here and is far from reflecting the actual perception of the brand, quality and management from the customers and MX fans. A "bro" brand? Really? I prefer 10 times this level of professionalism than the initial statement we saw and I prefer the sport now than in the 90s.

Nope, sure didn't. I know that I would if I was writing a piece for the public as the CEO/president of a company.

funny how everyone says how much better it would be if redbull or even rockstar would take over.Up here in canada we had rockstar take over the nationals and they do 100x better job advertising, give out more, representitives are actually there and are the nicest people in the pits. I think its time for the AMA to make some decisions and let some new refreshing blood into the sport. It worked up here in Canada.

So it sounds like monster has a deal with the team that their logo is the only green logo on the team bike or gear. Out of curiosity I pulled up some picks of Reed and his bike that look like official photos of when they announced the team. Funny but in all those shots the 360 logos were white, on the bikes and on the gear. So it sounds like they tried to change them to green and Monster said no. To me this appears to be a manufactured problem to give an excuse to get out of their deal

I actually just ordered a 360fly. Granted the video quality isn't on the same level as go pro but it makes up of rat with the 360 feature. Honestly, I bought it for stunt bike sessions. I think it will be cool to be able to get footage of everyone around me at the same time rather than trying to ride at a certain place in order to get decent footage of one rider.

example of what I'm talking about in regards to "stunt rides"
