See some pretty nasty comments about the kid. Didn't know so many people disliked him. I'm kind of surprised really, I mean the kid has a little brash(which I love personally) but does that really equate to the level of shit he's getting on the Cooper Webb thread going now?

When I was Coopers age ( many of us) were in a full scale war in Angola fighting SWAPO and Cubans.....so stop trying to Pussify these highly paid "kids"....

He looked pretty stupid when he was giving the #1 sign in practice, but I'm shocked he didn't throw a little fit after Craig was screwing with him. He was definitely starting to lose patience. Not a huge fan here. Dude's kind of a punk.

I became cooper webb fan with his interviews and last night he got a house full of fans with doing the dab over the finish line. My wife and her friends loved it. That's what going to get our sport to the next level. We as a motocross community will always love supercross but it won't grow with out getting outsiders to watch it and last night a room full of girls that don't watch it or know much about racing now loves cooper so they already said we coming back next weekend to watch him again. That's what we need.

I think he showed more maturity in the main and interview then in practice, but who here bitching about the finger hasn't done the same in a less intense situation? Craig had a great ride and threw everything at him but he kept his head and didn't play dirty. Great response in the interview "it was fun"

My family owned a motocross track and our biggest battle was to get our community to understand our sport. We always had our die heart motocross ppl come out to the races but we never could get outsiders to come and watch. If cooper can bring that why hate on him for being himself and it's obvious that young ppl and girls love him. So get over it

We have enough nice guys, we need Cooper Webb.

Hannah, Johnson, Bradshaw, Carmichael circa 2001, and now Webb. If we're lucky we'll see a serious rivalry next year. Webb haters just aren't getting it; this is what we need.

I don't consider myself a Webb "hater", and I think that this is the first thread related to him that I've replied to.

That being said, I think the young man appears to have some serious issues with basic human respect and communication. If these little outbursts were occasional, that'd be one thing, but there are so many of them that the pattern is pretty distinct.

It actually resembles the impulse control problems that my youngest son has, and the way he communicates so differently than my other 3 kids.

Webb's probably a good kid, especially to those who know him well, but he doesn't exactly come off that way. Granted, he's probably spent a lot more time in his young life practicing to go fast on a dirt bike than he has working on his social skills.

He's definitely fun to watch race when he's on it, though. That kid is going to win a lot of races over the next decade.
