My two worst were right hip, bike jumped out of gear on the face of a big table, I landed just short on my front wheel, thought I was going to ride it out but ended up high siding off the end of the jump and landed on my right side. Worst ambulance ride I've ever had, 45 min down tight bumpy twisty side road.

Second was my knee, landed cockeyed off a jump, foot hit the ground and my knee bent to 90 - sideways. Tore acl, mcl, meniscus, and chipped my femur.

I haven't ever had any major injuries but I was riding a wheelie on my TTR230 one time and hit a go kart and I think I broke my pinkie.

Another time a squirrel ran in front of me on a trail and I ran it over. I didn't get injured or anything but I felt pretty bad.
You must be lucky you've had no major injuries since you wreck a lot.
Ha. What's odd is when I first started riding, I laid the bike over or hit the ground pretty hard every time I went out. I guess I got lucky and landed right every time. I hardly hit the deck anymore. I just ride in my comfort zone for the most part.

Broken knee-No problem De Anza 88
3 broken ribs, snapped collarbone and partially collapsed left lung-Not fun Ascot 91
Cracked pelvis, hunk out of left arm-Definitely not fun. Carlsbad 90
Spiral tib fracture that required 3 screws, snapped fib and 100 days on crutches-Seriously no fun. Carlsbad 94
Herniated L5S1-Stoned chiropractor ( I wasn't aware until weeks later when massage therapist told me) instead of stretching me (as he had done dozens of times before) went ahead and gave me low back adjustment in 2001. BAM! Three weeks on the couch eating Vicodin like they were M&Ms followed by THREE years of pain and discomfort.

Of course I went and practiced as soon as the discomfort stopped but it took two more years before I could race again. Thank God for inversion tables and Vax D otherwise I would have had to have had back surgery.

It's a toss up between my complete ACL tear and shoulder dislocation. Both were fucking terrible and I'm still dealing with the dislocation. Will get it surgically fixed with quality PT when I'm done with school.

That said, absolutely none of my injuries hold a candle to some of you guy's. Wow.

My last wreck left me with a shatter acetabulum (hip socket), foot peg thru my left inner thigh (just above the knee) 1 broken rib and a torn external oblique muscle that ruptured my bladder when it tore. But I can say that the worst pain of all was when I had to roll from by stomach to my back to get on the backboard. My hip hurt so bad I almost passed out from pain.. If I've ever felt my "10" on the 1-10 pain scale that was it. And this was after I left them start my iv while still face down in the dirt and administer 8mg morphine iv. I know morphine isn't great but it's way better than nothing. tThis wreck happened last December.

I tore an acl that had been my most painful ever moment and it hurt really bad for like 5 minutes I mean an intense "9" on the pain scale but it felt better in a few. I still couldn't bear weight on it but it quite hurting so bad after about 5 minutes.

In all honesty, ribs are the worst pain I've had from injuries.
X2... Funny how they don't hurt at all if you aren't moving or breathing. However, if you feel the need to actually breathe, they hurt on every single breath. And it's a sharp "Oh Shit" kind of pain that you can't get a shot for. And God forbid that you actually have to sneeze or cough. And better still, they are the gift that keeps on giving, it took me a year after my last set of broken ribs to be able to sneeze without massive sharp pain.

Started riding and racing in about 1968

Right wrist – Navicular, wrist, and the 3rd time a plate
Broken ribs several times ~ do not sneeze!!
Left hip – Dislocated which cut the blood supply to the ball ~ hip ball is slowly deteriorating
Right Collar Bone – Twice
Right Leg – Tibia and Fibula, plated, rod lots of screws ~ loss of a ½” of length
Right Knee- Tibia Plateau
Right Hip – Shattered, plated and a rod with lots of screws ~ loss of a 1” of length. Happened in Chile and did not have surgery for 3 days after flying to LA
Right leg is now 1 ½” shorter……lots if $$$ spent on lifts
Countless bruises, rips and epidermis tears with and without stiches
Dislocated hips really do hurt

Shattered femur, broken arm, separated shoulder, punctured lung, cracked sternum and all ribs broken, plus a nasty concussion. All in a single crash. That was gnarly. The femur hurt so bad (felt like I was on fire) - I could barely tell anything else hurt, but breathing and feeling the crackle of all the broken ribs was interesting...

Worst one to date was in 2002. I got booted into a endo and bailed to late. The bike ate me up causing a posterior hip dislocation. My femur head was poking the skin out pretty far on my right butt cheek. I landed on my shoulders and the back of my head. The impact on the back of my head cased the chin part of my helmet smash my chest causing a bruise to my heart and my lung. Collar bone was broke too. The dislocation was by far the most painful injury thus far and coughing up major blood was the scariest part.

Ripped my Achilles in half sticking a uphill jump too hard. The rehab has been the worst with the nerve damage pain in my heal area. Might have to come to the realization that my motoing days might be finished, but still retaining some hope as this injury is not really healed completely for a year.

Hyper extended and wrecked left knee. That resulted in multiple knee surgeries, and eventually the opposite hip wore out. Then that was put in all fucked up and had to be redone after 5 years. Now the knee is bone on bone, no acl, no mcl, and is just a piece of shit that bothers me 24/7. Besides that I've been pretty lucky

Hip pointer, 4 broken collarbones, left foot twice, right tib/fib, several ribs, ruptured C5/C6, right thumb, left arm...

But I think the worst pain was crashing my Honda Aero 50 2 days before Loretta's on the road out front. Wearing shorts and a tank top. I think I still have asphalt in my leg from that. Dave Coombs Sr. picked my scooter up and made me push it back to our pit and I was banned from riding it the rest of the week. The pain trying to race with the road rash was unreal. My dad was extremely pissed. I never got on a pit bike again.

I ate shit at Honey Lake for LL regional. Shattered my kidney and spent a month in the hospital. Good times! At least I still have both kidneys.

Before and after. Kicking starting my sons 250f. Just had shoes and shorts on (I know, I know). Foot slipped off on the way down and caught the peg. Weird thing is, I didnt realize I did it until I looked at my other son and he turned white as a ghost. So, I wasn't even riding, and its not the worst injury I 've had in MX but thought I would share anyways.

Also, my tibia was so white it looked like it had been bleached. Got a direct view of it before the bleeding started. The blood in the first pic was all that it bleed. Finally, as one who sutures wounds, I appreciate how well I was sown up.

I'm with you on that, pretty scary injury considering you can die pretty easily if it goes unchecked. Luckily I got to keep mine even with a level five laceration, mine happened on a bmx bike though.
