I miss my 69 Mach 1 more than any other vehicle I owned. And not only because it would now be worth a lot more than I bought or sold it for.
My 69 is a beast.Gold 4 speed 428 Super Cobra Jet Drag Pac non power steering no fold down rear seat. It's is restored back to original except for a for things done to the engine that can't be seen.Point it in a straight line and hold on,these cars weren't made for turns.lol

An old girlfriend asked if I was any good at racing ,I said no, neverwas.
Then when I was signing up for the Fresh dirt web site I asked her what my screen name should be
She replied neverwas we laughed and I typed that in. never really liked it and should have never asked her.

He said my pops was the toughest MFer he ever met, and I dripped cool.

Not very creative. I ride Yamaha, my name is Ryan, and 239 is my race number (last three of my AMA).

I picked TommyZ because as a recent new member of the forum, the name TomZ (the name I use elsewhere) was already taken.

Damn you TomZ, you beat me to it ;-)

While at the track one day my friend said, "Dude you were riding like a Bro out there." to which I replied, "Duh, because i'm a Bro fo sho!"

Kinda stuck.

It's really fun when I play Reflex and Call of Duty. People loose their god damn minds when they were beat or killed by BroFoSho

Basically, I was born and raised at Indian Dunes. But, as the story goes, I won a big NMA Amateur National at Indian Dunes on 60's, and while my pops (Gary Lamb, Manager at Indian Dunes) was looking at the results board, he overheard a dad saying to another dad "Oh, that 's Danny Lamb. His dad runs the park so the kid can only win here." My dad asked him where his home track was?" He told my pops Barona Oaks, so we went to the next big NMA Amateur National race at Barona Oaks and my pops thought it would be fun to put "Daniel Dunes" on the back of my jersey. The story is even better because I won at the Barona Oaks race as well.

Yeah there is. Feels good looking back, seeing those names, and seeing I got a paragraph in the Cycle News write up. Smile
Those names bring back some memories. That was about a year before I started racing there. My Vital name is just my initials and MX

First two letters of the line of motocross bikes the company I worked for at the time and my first initial. I used my name, or some of it back a few forums prior to Vital or motodrive and got throttled at work for posting my thoughts. Had to go underground ever since.

My Son's nickname is T Bone (his first name starts with a T and he liked to eat a lot of meat, so he got the nickname T Bone). I'm his pop (dad).

Not really.

In 2000 I started racing again.Worked out a deal with husky importers and at muddy creek Joey Casey was passing out the "PRACTICE TRACK " paper.

In it was a section written up by mikeeep called freshdirt.

It was a website also with a board. I had just gotten dailup in my little town and started reading.

Joined with the name "hillbilly " because I am one. Pure country hick.

Teggers ran the same number as me ,351,he drove up from florida to a megaseries race we had at watt road in Knoxville.

Damn, what a track that was that day, epic long rutts and rutted jumps . Love that stuff.

Teggers was a freshdirt member and when I saw the number and the slash I thought "who the f is this"t hen the name "eggers" and the white helmet,

Been friends ever since.

I was hillbilly351 here for a while on the 1st md board because someone had registered hillbilly and was ruining my good name, lol.

Guyb clipped him i guess,it was prolly redrider,I think he is dead now.

Man,so many from that board are dead.
Ha watt rd eh? never raced there, but practiced there right before they leveled it and built a Furniture Country or what ever it is there. But they went bankrupt, karma is a bitch.

No kidding! I started racing there in '85 and some of the guys in the pee wee classes and 60cc classes were big names by then. Sean Thornton, Scott Brown, Paul Cortez. Not to mention Bubba Erickson, who I raced against in the +30 Intermediates in much more recent years.
The rest of that list is like a who's who of '80s pros! Shaun Kalos, Eddie Hicks, Mike Healey, Paul Denis, Keith Turpin...
Plus, I know Broc Glover, Rick Johnson and Scott Burnworth raced there a lot too. Man, that was the track back in the day...

I am Jim and picked 31 for my racing number due to some heroes that used that number back in the early 70's, had it ever since!

Mine comes from a couple of things, one I never like my boring un cool name of Mike Hoffman, I always wished I could have a cool name and nickname like Johnny ''O' Show'' O'Mara. When I got back into racing post Vintage a few years ago, I really wanted to try to recreate everything that was cool about my favorite racers at that time, and for me Johnny O' was as cool as it gets.
I wanted to put something cool on the back of my helmet, jersey and pants, but didn't feel worthy of putting Johnny O'Show O'Mara on there, so I tried to come up with a name that sounded and looked as close as it could, and for the O'Show part, I thought O'Slow would be much more fitting and funny.
