Hoping he's doing good this evening. Maybe we should start giving him some stuff to check out once he's into recovery.

Just got a text from Torco1 himself. He said he doesn't know how or why it happened but for some reason off of the biggest jump on the track his bike nose dived as soon as he took off and he knew he was screwed right away (I'm guessing he was at Milestone). It's about a 90 foot jump and he went over the bars. The paramedics said to the ER docs that he came down on his head, neck, and back and that the bike was on top of him and basically drove him into the ground. Both him and the bike stayed together for a little while flipping and cartwheeling for a pretty far distance. All he remembers is landing on his back at some point and then everything went black.

His entire body is hurt from head to toe, bruises, road rash, swelling, broken ribs, broken elbow, back and neck are jacked up. There are some issues they are concerned about but for the most part he should be ok. His friends picked up his bike for him and told him the bike is basically trash and not even worth fixing because of how broken up it is.

Said thanks for checking in and that it means a lot. He'll give an update sometime later on.

Whoa,calcium vacation.

Good thing ha was wearing a helmet.

Hey,I guess they got you on a morphine pump. If you pass out, fall asleep, have someone push the button for you,

That way you won't wake up in pain from sleeping thru the missed doses.

Worked for me,lol.

Glad to hear you are going to be alright. My worst injuries are from my bike stalling or locking up on takeoffs of huge jumps for some reason. The talus is the strongest bone in body and real hard to break. They usually break during head on collisions in cars. Broke mine in 4 places on elevator though. Sport can be brutal. Hope you heal up as fast and as pain free as possible.

Nope don't do that'! When your respirations drop down to 5-6 cause someone is doing this and you end up in respiratory distress and a rapid response happens, it could end up worse than it is.

Sorry but I work on an ortho floor and there is nothing more irritating than someone else doing this shit. How are we supposed to assess your situation/progress if you are always knocked out (at best). They will be so loopey that they can't even perform their PT, not that Torco is at that point yet. Just a pet peeve of mine.

Strueth. That is a big injury list! Get well soon Torco1 - you are one tough dude.

Hope any surgery required goes well....particularly the hip. One of the reasons I had 3 years off racing was the explanation of the surgery required if I was to bend any of the plates holding my leg together....Good luck man.

Man, that list of injuries is nothing to sneeze at!!! Get better, yo!
7/9/2014 12:39am
Damn, Torco, you really did a number on yourself brother.. In one crash you literally surpassed my entire list of injuries in my 38 years of racing and riding. That is one gnarly list. Incredibly, in true moto head form, though, you sound like you're in good spirits. It also sounds like you have a great wife. Mine is the same way. Not in love with me continuing to pound my old bones on a dirt bike, but 100% supportive either way.

I hope the hospital is keeping you out of pain and everything heals up well for you brother.
