Man, what bummer to end this season. Even though I was rooting for Kenny and Hunter from the beginning, he was clearly the guy to beat in the first half of the season. I truly believe he was sick or dealing with an injury. There is no way he rides like he did and then just randomly doesn't even fight for podiums or even top 5 finishes anymore. Looked great last weekend and in qualifying this weekend until the crash.
I hope he recovers well and gels with the KTM outdoors and we see him fighting for more wins than last year. Truly a legend, hope he doesn't retire at the end of the year.
Also despite how the season went for him, did anyone notice how happy he looked last and this weekend? Like he has never enjoyed it more? Pretty rad.
It's honestly been tough as a Tomac fan! Ever since the achilles injury it's just seemed like so many things go wrong. Stuff just seems to happen to him 🤷♂️
Win or lose, I love to watch him ride any chance I get. Like you, I hope he can beast mode it a few times outdoors on that KTM he likes so much!
Wonder how banged up he is after watching this clip. Could also be a sighting lap. At least he's riding.
Darkside did a good interview with him on the moto x pod. Worth the listen.
I love the comments. "Looks slow." Ugh, ya think?! Crazy that he's on the bike already. Guess that's a good sign? Right back to work after Saturday. Is that the '27 he's supposed to be shaking down?

looks like he's moving around a lot for a hip injury. Im hoping he's ok and just taking it easy
He is definitely feeling some things out. You can see him easing up at times.
He's old as far as this sport goes. Don't forget that y'all.
He's definitely past his prime - and while he's still fast at times, it's certainly not trending uphill.
The racing is always better with Tomac in it. I hope we get a couple more years after this still.
Gonna go out on a limb and say he was doing some light testing in all the videos posted in this thread
We know what he can do at Pala. He is probably still sore and just wanted a little track time there. Also, to show everyone he is already back on the bike.
Until that dude can get a start, dumb shit like what’s happening lately is going to keep happening. Hes like the only top tier guy that is the worst starter. And I’ve seen races where tomac has a shitty heat race because of a bad start, but be able to pick gates after guys like Prado and and then picks a gate where they are to his immediate inside. Then proceeds to get out jumped and pushed wide for another bad start. Like dude. You know Prado is going to beat you off the start, why pick a gate next to him. I guess if you’re tomac it doesn’t matter who’s to your inside. They are going to get the Jump on you anyways.
Staying in zone 2
Maybe he just wants to finish his career having fun. Win lose or draw...just enjoy it.
Eli knows this better than anyone. Starts are 90% mental. He is just not a consistently good starter and never will be. He doesn't have the confidence in his start ability that he needs, which is amazing for such a great rider.
Think of how many more wins he could have had if he were just a decent starter? He probably would have won SLC with a top 5 start. Instead he got hurt. Even the greats have flaws.
Dude just landed on his footpeg with his hip and his stomach after bailing a decent gap, literal nightmare scenario and he’s already back riding. Got me even more excited for outdoors
I love all the downvotes. It’s literally the truth. Starts are a roll of the dice sadly if you make it thru the first 3 turns or so. Mostly because we refuse to do row or grid starts. But that’s a seperate also downvoted topic itself lolz
I do agree something happened to him. It was like his stamina went out the door in a week after Daytona. Shame, cause I think he could of won the Supercross championship, but glad Kenny finally got his.
That being said, if healthy, he's still a favorite in my book for outdoors.
Pit Row
Tomac and Prado started next to each other at Nashville, but it was Prado who lined up next to Eli. Tomac had first or second pick from winning the heat.
Prado looks good!
So Tomac didn't win practice ????? OMG no!
Maybe he's smart enough to understand there's nothing to gain by going full retard on a public track packed with locals.
fastest middle finger on the track
Tomac will have some WTH rides this year, according to Daniel Blair.
Safe bet . .
He's said in multiple interviews that he'll keep racing as long as he feels like he can win. He isn't going to go ride around in 5th and "have fun".
"talkin bout practice".gif
It will rain at least once this summer in Louisiana...
