Red plate is cool for Tom, but down 1 point doesn’t seal the deal for me just yet…
Avoided Prado in Europe, now avoiding him again. 250 forever?
Prado is on a different level to Vialle outdoors but at this rate I don't see how he catches up to him as a SX rider. He really needed to stay healthy this season
Will make for an interesting comparison next year in supercross as I assume Tom will have to move up

I believe Tom is eligible for one more year in the 250 class unless he wins the title again this year.
He’s got that championship mindset ( not that anything’s decided yet ) but yer he has always done this and does generally get better as it goes on , max is the complete opposite he starts strong and then gets worse was exactly the same in mx2 in the gps , that being said I really do want him to do it and would love to see it 👍
he won it last year, he's gotta go 450 in '26.
edit: i was wrong
Yup, I almost wonder if it would be better for Tom to not win the title and stay down one more year. I’m sure he’d adjust to the 450 nicely, but idk where hed slot in in 450sx. Is his deal up this year?
Next year would be tough but the year after were going to see a lot of top guys retired or nearing the end at least , I think his style would suit a bigger bike he’s pretty smooth in comparison to a deegan RJ etc
Nope, only if he wins the title again this year.

It's only his 3rd season in SX.
What about RJ and Jordon Smith? 10 years in the 250 class...
Edit: Actually their 11th season now in 250 SX.
Wonder if KTM gets rid of AP7 & gives Vialle the second seat. Anyone know how when AP’s contract is up ?
Or Vialle teams with AP when Sexton moves on.
All the 450 Austrian riders have contracts up this year. In fact almost all 450 riders are on the last year of their contract. I think the Lawrence’s are signed and Prado is. That might be it for the factory teams.
RJ might be the only Austrian rider signed for 2026.
I don't see it. If the ktm race team goes racing, they'll want at least one championship contender, and one second tier guy, like they currently have.
Not hard to avoid to Prado. He's injured on the sidelines. Tom's been able to set himself up for success in sx much better than Prado. Assuming he moves up next year, if I'm betting money between Prado or Vialle. I'm putting my money on Tom
I see Vialle being a copy of Marvin Muquins career. So far pretty spot on.
Moving to 450 he will catch a win or two here and there but no more championships.
Pit Row
didn't know that, always thought it was a defend for one year and you're out. Have we seen another guy win in his second season with this rule in place? I wonder if they'll keep him in 250s another year?
I think it’s because it been a while since we’ve someone win a 250 SX championship early on so it always goes back to the “you can only race one year after your title” rule. It might be a fun stat to look at how many years a rider has been in the 250 class before they got their regional championship. I feel like it used to happen a lot more frequently but the past 10 years it seems like it’s coming from 250 “veterans”.
Chase Sexton comes to mind but even then I think he technically had more seasons than we realize under his belt because he got injured at the first round or similar.
Prime Marv was an amazing rider, especially outdoors. Gave Eli fits and beat him straight up. That would be a career to be proud of by any metric
This might be unpopular but IF he doesn’t win it (I don’t think he should throw it to stay down) I think it would be smart to race his final year in 250 SX since I don’t think many of the top 450 guys are retiring after this season. I just find it hard to believe some of the teams would prefer to sign him for 450 SX when you have guys like Roczen, Barcia, Stewart, Plessinger, Savatgy, Anderson and even J. Cooper I think looking to re-up. I think we’ll see a lot of one-year deals and 2027 he can slot into 450 SX a lot easier. Plus the 250 SX -> 450 MX seems to be a pretty smart move lately.
One of the biggest heartbreaks that comes to mind in this sport is at the final round in Ironman and he had a mechanical DNF when that national championship came down to him and J. Mart if I’m remembering correctly. Pretty sure it was a fuel pump issue that was very common at that time for the KTM and co. bikes.
Unless he turns around his season AP is done at KTM.
Since the rule change after 2016, I think the only person that has won early on and would actually be eligible to take advantage of the rule has been Sexton, first SX season in 2018, won 2019 and 2020. Jett won in his 3rd and 4th year.
Lewis is going to be all whole new level of gloat this week. He has been calling Vialle as the champ for months.
If Sexton can't tame the KTM's front end, he will move to Kawasaki!
This is terrifying
Lewis is incredibly annoying. I think he jinxes whomever he's glazing atm
A heartbreak was also that JS7 didn't knew that Marvin Musquin & Ryan Dungey where fighting for the win and went to the side when he saw Dungey and put Musquin in the squees. Back than it costed him his first 450 win. All by all, like most are saying, Marvin had a more than decent career in the states. He came over with two 250 world championships, won a supercross east 250 championship and than his career looked a lot like the one of Marnicq Bervoets and Clément Desalle the never-ending runner-ups. Meaning that Marvin also ended up an awful lot as runner-up in both the 450 outdoor series as the 450 supercross series.
If Tom Vialle can have such a career he will be a glad man, because he never thought he would be good enough to race here. Even when he became world champion for the first time he wasn't. But after his second world title it was for KTM easier to give him a good opportunity here than in Europe and he took the chance and never looked back.
