He's the leader of the group that hands out the penalties. He SHOULD have insight into every call made, because these aren't immediate calls. Letting him off the hook because he may or may not have made the call on the floor is ridiculous. With that leadership role comes the responsibility for the guys underneath you, and if a call is unanimously evaluated as wrong, guess what? It's on Mike. It's not about being lenient on a particular call, it's about you being lenient on Pelletier. You're still doing it. You're trying to take the attention away from Pelletier to the calls themselves.

I believe the heat is coming from you not wanting to single out Pelletier. But he should be singled out because he is the lead and ultimately responsible. I understand you being reluctant to single him out because your livelihood depends on it. It would be pretty shitty for him to pull anyone’s credential based off of their personal opinion on a ruling or how it was mishandled. Mike Pelletier is the Race Director. We all know others are involved but he is THE GUY. You defiantly sharing the blame across the others in turn taking the accountability away from Pelletier looks suss. It looks like you're covering yourself.

I listened to that segment of the podcast yesterday. It’s unclear to me if you are just debating a contrary view but it seems you aren’t grasping the fact that as director Pelletier absolutely is accountable. He doesn’t answer to anyone else in the area of race rules and decisions. If people in his team are doing things independently of him that’s also his problem.

I was about to basically say this but you already said it. Lewis seemed to be afraid to call out pelletier so his access didnt get canked, while simultaneously saying everybody is too chummy.

Kellen was pointedly direct in his blame for the shitshow with rulings as of late, and rightfully so. Not sure why Lewis had such an issue with Kellen's references to the past that built on his point, they aided in the overall point Kellen was making, regardless of how long ago they occurred or if they were similar to ruling issues in other motorsports like F1. Yeah I don’t get it. A lot of old heads probably enjoy the early race times so they can get to bed at an early time, but I ride and race Dirtbikes for fun on the weekend, and like to catch the race that evening after unloading the bikes, grilling some burgers/ordering pizza and stuff. It sucks that it’s getting to where I have to watch the replays. Supercross shouldn’t be any earlier than 6 or 7pm
