What is being taken on the gate? Remember when Stewart took a pill before a SX start, and I just saw some footage of Hunter L doing some sort of inhalant before a start. What is the currant stimulant these guys are taking? I’m sure most dudes remember to hit it before they are on TV but it seems like sometimes they forget and that looks kinda weird. Inquiring minds want to know. Not saying it’s illegal or whatever

Not a good look, but only to the uninformed viewer. If people assume what they're seeing is illegal or, "not good" then perhaps they should look into the topic before jumping to conclusions.

I've noticed Hunter, Jett, and I think Webb? As someone else had mentioned, it looked similar in size and shape to a chap-stick tube. I was curious what it it was as well, but assumed it was maybe a nasal decongestant.

I just went back and looked for a video and saw a closer view, and you're right it does look more like a chapstick, maybe something to open the nasal passages (like Ricky alludes to). They sell bottles of smelling salts (not the type you crack/one time use) but they are far too potent to rub around in one's nostrils.

Jett has been on camera doing it on the starting gate at least twice this season. I've seen him doing it at two different races but I could've missed a couple also

The others were sniffing smelling salts. Happens in every major sport. Ive used them when trying to PR a lift. TBH doesnt do shit for me but whatever.

What do you think is more likely - the fastest guy and series points leader taking some sort of banned substance on TV while at the starting gate, or he’s using a completely normal and approved thing like smelling salts or nasal vapour?
