How about Mumford did he get a ride outdoors?
Nope thumb injury
One weekend off between SX and MX…no time to heal and prepare properly for outdoors. 4 months prep for SX, 1-2 weeks for MX
JMart must have been on the mend for awhile
Heard he had a crash at club a few weeks back on the sand track n was sleeping for 5-7 mins.

Based on his Strava he’s running a marathon tomorrow with Alex
Damn, he got KO’d at that one Supercross this year too where he was out for a while. Multiple concussions in the span of a few months is sketchy. Still believe he’s got it in him to win more races outdoors but it gets to a point where he has to be questioning how to go about it.
At the same time, these guys make hundreds of thousands racing and for a lot of them it’s all they know and if they do stay in the industry they’ll be taking a significant pay cut by retiring.
I understand why some guys don’t step away.
Unsure, he’s clearly at the crossroads with making it work with a team. Can definitely twist it but seems to have problems with each team he goes to
Damn that sucks, and like you’re saying, at some point you gotta hang it up. JMart has had to have made enough money to where he can step away and live comfortably with an “industry” job. He’s won races and championships and doesn’t seem like the type of person to live high on the hog. Maybe give Canada a shot on a 450 with less pressure if he wants to keep racing? Whatever it is, the last few years has not been kind to him and I’m not even counting the back injury he had at GEICO.
Can any of the moto journalists who work/post here confirm that JMart had a practice crash a few weeks ago and was knocked out?
He won a half marathon today and looked fantastic. All I know.
That is insane.
I can't see running a half if you we're ko'd recently.
Wonder what his time was. Guessing around 1:20:00 if his running fitness is about the same as his brother’s, saw Alex ran a couple sub-3 full marathons a while back which is pretty damn impressive.
He ran 1:15. Shit is insane!
And yet a couple weeks ago you had a thread where people were saying high schoolers were more fit than these top guys.
No, it was far worse... Guys claiming they could do the same shit off the couch. Some people really have no clue.
Listen to Eli's pulp interview from a couple months ago. Him and Phil talked about Jeremy being the best cyclist out of all the pro's. Tomac said he could out sprint him for a couple minutes but then Jmart would be gone. I've heard others talk about different endurance tests and Jeremy is always brought up. I bet he'd be good at hare scrambles, I wonder if he's ever raced one?
A 1:15 half is unreal. I ran a half in 1:30 & every mile was under 7 minutes. Do you have a link to the results? That’s absolutely cookin
Pit Row
Don’t have results but do have this
My 40yr old ass ran 8.5mi in that time on Friday. I can’t imagine doing that pace. He must have some Kenyan in him!

There were some real kooks on that thread, but I do agree with the sentiment that pro moto guys are not "world class endurance" athletes. Yes, they are a lot fitter than the average Joe but they honestly wouldn't hold a candle to world class cyclists or runners.
If anything, J-Mart's performance should confirm that fact. I think he's regarded as one of the fittest guys in our sport and his half marathon time is 15 minutes over what would be considered a world class half marathon time. That's like someone turning up to a moto race and being 30 seconds a lap (on a 2 min track) off the pace.
Funnily enough, John Tomac believes the same thing... I remember an interview that Steve did with him where he admits that in the grand scheme of athletics, it's really not that hard to reach the level of fitness required to be competitive at pro moto. This is okay though, moto is a super gnarly sport and it's extremely hard on the body (and mind) in other ways.
Insane pace, I can’t hold a sub-6 minute mile for a single mile, let alone 13.1.
And he’s like what, 5’4”?
Funny enough, Osborne said on the Moto 60 show a few weeks back that Jmart could be competitive at a world cup level mountain biking.....he is clueless with that.....Jmart is fast on a bike, but nowhere close to a world cup level.
I agree to a point but he’s closer to being a world class runner than the guys winning marathons are to being world class MXers. Especially impressive for his stubby little body. The work his body is doing for every stride compared to a typical ultra runner is pretty significant.
Some of those takes were ludicrously bad. But the Martins are definitely outliers when it comes to cardiovascular endurance. You don’t need to be able to run that fast to race motocross
5:46 average pace is insane. Winners gonna win 🥇
Johnny o show has said he has a bigger engine than most athletes.
That is likely true, but going to a world cup level would like a local B rider showing up at A1.....not going to end well. The level is insane. I am sure he could be very competitive in age group classes at a national level, but nowhere near world cup.
