Between all the madness of A1 I had a thought

Has Kyle Chisholm seen more blue flags than any other rider ever? Has he been lapped more than any rider ever? Has there been anyone else in history that’s just good enough to qualify but routinely be in the bottom 4-5 for this long? This isn’t a hate post I’m genuinely curious

Is there any other rider out there who has made a living consistently for this long while helping develop settings on a bike with no updates in 7 years allowing his teammate to potentially win every weekend? Not a hate post I’m genuinely curious…

20 seasons is incredible.
KDub tried.
Reed tried.
To be a pro at that level in any sport for that long is some serious hard work and talent, much less in Supercross.

How many years has he had the number 11? Also what is the record for who has held a career number the longest? Him or reed?

Funny you mention Reed.

Anyone remember his run in with Chiz many years ago and his, "Who's that?" (I'm paraphrasing, it's been many years) quip in the post-race interview, implying Chiz was a nobody?

And here we are all these years later and the guy is still doing it.

Kudos to him.

The only rider I can imagine is in that ballpark could be Kyle Lewis?? But he started so far up front I’m not sure exactly how many blue’s he’s seen, I doubt as many as Chiz

My exact thought, that was my first memory of him, I remember watching Las Vegas as a 6 year old and I believe Ralph saying “Stewart’s teammate is not here because of a suspension from last weekend”, and that was so long ago it’s unbelievable to me he’s still out here racing. Don’t even get me started on Laninovich either, I can’t believe a 2002 race winner is on the gate

Damn, that's cold blooded OP. I ran to the vault to prove you wrong and show you that he was consistent top 10 guy in the first half of his career.

But...yeah the guy has hovered around between 10th and 25th literally his whole career ( final standings, not race results). There's a couple top 10 450MX seasons sprinkled in there.

But, you're right. So, who else has done this? Maybe JT$?

It's not an insult to state he has got the most blue flags, it's a testament to his longevity.

I think if you earn a Career number inside the top 20, you should have to prove you can finish in the position of your number or better. Chiz hasn't finished 11th in a very very long time...

Would you be saying the same about Tomac if he was in Chiz’s position? Doubt it.

NW27 also had a long racing career and was doing it for years on his own dime.

I knew Lewis had to be up there but I didn’t realize he went all the way to 2007, wow, him and Chiz both raced at the same time for at least one year

Chad Reed was heavily mailing it in the last 3 or 4 years of his career.  Showing up fat and out of shape, shitting on new riders, going on about our his era was the best...and blocking Dunge when he was getting lapped. It was an inglorious end to his career.

On Chiz - is he the only rider left in America wearing a neck brace?  It makes him look like a relic from a bygone era.

Michael Mosiman was sporting one this past weekend so maybe they're making a comeback?

Not too late to bust yours out of storage! 😄

Heavily mailing it in for 3 or 4 years?

2017 he got a 2nd on the much maligned McCarty pig. Performed better than teammate Webb.
2018 was injured all season and not training, but still got top tens.
2019 got a podium on the Suzuki before Kenny made them cool again.
2020 wasn’t good, injured again but still qualified for every main.

2020 imo is the only year that could be called mailing it in, if you really need to.

How many years has he had the number 11? Also what is the record for who has held a career number the longest? Him or reed?

Unless I'm googling wrong he got it in 2011!

RV won 450's

Tickle won West

Barcia won East

Seems like so long ago haha

Maybe it’s just me but I feel like so many people forgot Tickle won that title

I'm talking in the Championship result. Not just one race. MY OPINION.. only race winners or Champions should be allowed to get Career numbers.

Chiz:

24: 18th
23: 15th
22: 14th
21: 19th
20: 19th
19: 17th
18: 23rd
17: 30th
16: 41st
15: 14th
14: 25th
13: 24th

He was in the top 10 in overall points, mx and sx, when he got his career number. Kyle earned his in 2010 with a 10th overall in 450 SX and a 6th overall in 450 MX.

Reed holds the record at 21 years. Chisholm is tied for 2nd longest with Wilson at 15.
