Weather check ...

Yeah that sucks if ya drive over it, big hard pack ice mess the whole winter then. I always had to shovel the drive way, before my Mom got home at 11.25 pm from work. She was afraid of sliding threw the garage wall in her 72 luxury Lemans. Hey plowboy, I just left your state, -22 in coby this morning. Pu another ld up in Hays, then to Denver. Plains had blowing snow of course. Dispatch said no to all loads going to Texas and Ok. , he said state of emergency down there.

Snow on the beach in Galveston, Texas. I haven't had power since Sunday night and now no water. Sucks but I got off work a few days for a change!

Man what a strange world with such huge differences in culture and climate only short distances from each other. We are keeping everyone in our thoughts. I have been all over the world and I still like it scolding hot the best.

we're getting tons of snow and have some extremely high avalanche warnings in pretty much all Utah mountain ranges. pretty wild shit, i don't think i've ever seen such crazy and volatile snow conditions. we had 1 fatality all of last year from avalanches, an 18 year old kid in January. so far in 2021 we already have 6 avalanche fatalities. being an avid backcountry snowmobiler and snowbiker, it's got me spooked for sure. even low elevation and low slope angle stuff is dangerous right now.

12 miles of that shit to Interstate 40. The wind was actually pushing me around on the ice this morning, couple of times I thought I was going to end up in the ditch. My 60 mile commute.

Even living in an area where that is a "common" winter occurrence, the first couple times you face it each winter feels a bit sketchy and makes you have to rethink it all over again.

One thing that I have grown out of is making fun of the snow driving of people who don't regularly have to drive in the snow. Unless they are too cocky and invite disaster on themselves, of course.

But if I am in an area that doesn't get all that much snow and people are driving "too slow" (my old thoughts) then I am full of praise for them! Rather have them respect the crap than cause huge issues for themselves and everyone else. It also reminds me to slow down and get to my destination in one piece too!!!!

Most folks can't drive on dry, flat, straight pavement, never mind throwing in some inclement weather.

Your 1st pic, looks slick. Any time you see a glare, you know it’s slick. If there’s no traffic around, look for another line. Depending on the vehicle , get 200-450 lbs of weight in the box or trunk. Rain x your head and tail lights. At night 1 time I couldn’t find the road in the wind and snow,so I drove with just the clearance lights on. I could see the tracks threw the 5 inches on the road. It’s like off road driving, driving in snow can be fun. It does wear you out tho. Snow driving over 3 weeks everyday as of 2-18

It has to be bad driving daily up north. Here you will pass 6 to 10 accidents in a 50 mile drive where it's flat and dry but the weird part is I hardly ever see Florida tags in the wrecks this time of year, actually it's tough to see Florida tags at all this time of year. So these people can't even drive in safe conditions. It must be why so many cars from out of state seem to have more dents than most. I guess they are all running from the cold and hazardous drives but make it more sketchy here too. Don't these people know about the poisonous crocodiles that drop out of trees and eat your pocket poodles here? it's really bad.

Those pocket poodles are the perfect tasty treat for the "gator on the go" so I've heard.

Another day of slimy snow this time in Newark nj.. Area again. pic is 2 hrs b4 it started. Unload area was a joke, tight. Have to do a u, to get into a dock. Leaving on a 2 lane Whindy rd, 10 mph tight curve. I,m going up a small hill, tanker truck is not paying attention. I stopped he cut the curve short, panics hits the brakes . His trailer brakes locked, slow motion. I,m watching his tank is going to hit me right in the door. real quick I got my seat belt off and dove onto the jump seat. So lucky he didn’t hit me, I was stuck on the hill then. Then I have countless people pulling out right in front of me, including school buses. Rd conditions where greasy,. It started raining going threw NYC, so that was great. hauling a 3 plac card haz mat load. Trucks hv a air, electronic controlled auto trans., this 1 has the manual mode locked out. So you put the little plastic gear selector in neutral, if you slide. Can,t hit the brakes because new trucks anti lock systems don’t work. Including the trailers, you hv no idea how much more dangerous, it is compared to a passenger car or pick up.

7 degrees and very windy in New Hampshire tonight. Odd weather Sunday small ice chunks swirling, then snow. 12 foot leave tornados, I kept crashing through them. I moved to NH. In the 80,s , 1 suitcase and 240 bucks. Worked for acme tree surgery, they went bankrupt. Got asplungh tree experts # from my boss. They where hiring in nh. And the Virgin Islands. I tried to borrow 400 from my Mom, she said no way. Being back hear in nh. I,m so over traveling, tired of being ripped off. I hv aprox 1,400.00 worth stuff in the truck, just wanted to leave it and start walking. Not that I wanted too, but I have to fight to get my money. In the 80,s asplungh said we hv 2 yrs of work, after a few weeks they say you hv to move to Boston. My last day the conn. Guy I worked with says walk, I,m not going back to town. It’s 40 miles, I was pissed. Nothing out there, next rd had a couple cars on it. Hitch hiking got me a ride. Myweekend job turned into my full time job, didn’t last . He was a stoner, stiffed me on my last check. I called the state on him, got my money. I had money down on MMI school, I was there to build my account. So school would b more fun. Still hv to call the state to get money. Current job when I leave, the crooks are going to expience a few angles of what just happened

My oldest son is in Starkville at State. We are about 30 miles West of Birmingham. The way the weathermen are talking this could be a bad day for a lot of people in Mississippi and Alabama. I haven't heard this much hype about severe weather here since probably April 27, 2011.

Weather modification is likely playing a part in this. I believe China had a part in the last snow storm and will play a part in this storm. I hate to be a conspiracy theorist but this is a long string of "worst ever" storms and I'm not buying the climate change BS.
