9/10/2025 9:31am I bought one for my son and justified it by getting the wider rear wheel/tire and the hydraulic clutch. The power delivery might suit you well with no additional mods necessary. I was comfortable on the bike immediately and I am over 200#.

We did much the same. Planned on grass field for the day. He picked it up so fast he ended up on the track in the afternoon. Made him do loops and stop and start at me. Then do a loop get into second and third. Then down shift when he got to me. The key is patience. They learn it quick proving neither of you get frustrated.

That's how I learned. The more start-stop you do while he's learning the better. He may stall a few times, ride the clutch a whole bunch a few times but that's how 90% of us learned. Keep it fun, and congrats.

Stepping up to a new 65 today- Would love to hear any tips for helping him with the clutch. Appreciate it. Plan is:- We have a big open grass area at house ...click second,feel it out doing some loops. That's as far as i got!😄 I'll give him a tutorial when not running. Thanks!

4/26/2025 11:43am Instruction only goes so far, it’s “feel” that you have to develop. Lots of starts and stops. Once he has a feel for what the clutch does and how to modulate it, the rest will come pretty easy. Be patient and let him have fun.

Maybe a not so serious topic but I find it interesting. Speaking from personal experience.. as much as I wouldn't change a thing, my parents gave me everything - they took me to races all over the country, made sure I had new bikes, and gave me every opportunity they could, but it was at the cost of missing out on the normal growing up that other kids experience. Very not serious topic and should also be marked as not important, but I find it funny how within mx-sx people call young men kids. 'He is a good kid' is a normal phrase for a 20year racer. Older men my age does it, even young ones does it. Heard Jett calling Seth Hammaker 'a good kid' in some interview, isn't Seth a young man, 22yo? If they could have waited, then there’s no reason to even throw a red flag. You throw the red flag because a rider is in danger. You should never base that decision on who is leading or how much time they need to ‘run off’.

1/11/2025 3:13pm Ironically…. That front number plate does cover the forks. If I am seeing it right, there are black wings/extensions on the lower part of the plate. Edit: I stand corrected. It was an illusion.
