Here is a picture of an Alpinestars 2026 Supertech glove in a Men's Large size. I always wear a large in my MX gloves, including my Alpinestars gloves from a few years ago. I can barely fit 4 fingers into the opening of the glove. I double checked the label inside and it says men's large. Anyone else having these extreme fitment problems? These were an expensive glove so we have both inflation and shrinkflation going on here

In my experience, all things Alpinestars with the exception of boots runs small. I have lots of gear, jackets, helmets, gloves. Keep in mind their high end moto stuff will be athletic/slim/figure skate cut.
I literally can’t even fit my foot through the hole in the leg of their pants.
I have a couple pairs of 2023 (I think) tech star gloves in size medium. They fit fine. I bought a 2024 pair in medium and couldn’t really get them on so I sent them back for a large. I was barely able to put the large on. It was smaller than the medium from the previous year.
. . . you must acquit

I think it might not be just Astars. I've recently tried a couple of different brands of gloves (Fly & Deft Family) and they run small too. I am not a big guy and I'm wearing XL and even that is on the snug side. I can't imagine what big fellas are wearing. XXXL?
Mx gloves and grips are kid sized for some reason. I wear L-XL in regular work gloves but when it comes to Mx gloves I'm having to get XXL or XXXL in Fly, TLD, or 100%. I hold the grips right up to the flange and my hands still hang out past the end of the bar. I've thought of ways to extend the throttle tube so that I can run longer BMX grips but I haven't come up with a good solution yet. I don't think I have big hands and in other sports the sizing is more in line with reality. No idea why Mx stuff is so small.
Ok so it wasn’t just me? I bought 3 sets of Alpinestars super tech gear, the gloves are size L and they are way too tight on my hands. I couldn’t believe how small they were. It honestly pissed me off
Not just the size, the quality has tanked pretty bad with some gloves. I bought a brand new pair of TLD gloves last year and they literally lasted an hour and a half. I don't think I hold on very tight either, definitely not a death gripper.
I’m guessin* you guys with this issue did online shopping?
Sounds like they're making them out of the same panty hose they're making the pants and jerseys out of these days.
It’s probably because they outsource everything to china and those factories use Chinese people to do measurements or some shit.
Yeah i dunno what is going on with gloves. Im not a big guy (6 foot) and im now running XXL gloves. My gloves i wear for work are XXXL. Its a bit strange, a few years ago I was just a medium.
Ah well the bigger the hands the bigger my donga must be.
All new MX gloves are junk. Zero protection.
oh my god oh my god finally a thread about skinny, non-protective gloves! I'M SO READY
I only wear mechanics gloves now. The ones with pads on each knuckle
Seems like that's becoming the norm from alot of companies. Most I have to order a size larger than what normally wear,
That's a weird looking condom.
I'm sure it was in fact normal people who shop online like normal people do, to save money and get the brands, types, and colors they want.
Especially since the big online retailers allow free exchanges on gear.
Local dealers generally carry fuck all for things people actually want.
Pit Row
The reason dealers don't stock anything now is because they would pay tons of money to stock up and the stuff would get worn out by people just coming in to try gear on, and then go home and order it online to save $2
I'm guessing they saw your name was Tokyo Tiddler and figured the Asian men's large would be a better fit.
All made in china
I’d like to see a pic of this. I wear an XXL glove and have big hands and mine definitely do not hang off the side of the grip.
I work at a dealership and am having the same issue with A-star gloves. I actually usually end up in Moose gloves.
Well… I’ve always worn an XXL glove and size 13 boots. I’m living proof that, the theory of “Big hands & Big feet = Big dick” is a farce. 🤣
Not just A Stars. I've been using Fox Pawtectors for the last 10 or so years. The most recent pair I bought -- XL, as always --, are very tight, and the fingers are oddly sized. Some of the fingers are too short, others too long. It's like they threw out the international sizing spec that has been in place for oh, the last 30 years or so.
Like this? Two different throttle tubes.

I have some Alpinestars cold weather gloves that fit the same as the other brands . I wear a 2XL in all moto gloves I've tried. Five,Shot,Thor,Alpinestars,100% . I used to wear an XL glove and XL helmet in the early 2000's .
But now with current gear I wear a size bigger in gloves and helmets. The 25 and newer Thor stuff has been improved over the 22-24 stuff. I have not tried any of the new gloves as I stocked the shop up on the closeouts . But I've gotta get some fresh stock soon for gloves. I sold a lot of them in the fall. WIth the THor gloves My rep had told me that the cheaper glove was the most popular and durable. I trusted him on it and bought a bunch. I also got the matching high end gloves and mid in lower quantities and when customers tried them on, before knowing the prices most prefered the cheaper version that's been discontinued now. The people that know the lines of gloves well had their favorites . But new to the brand customers tended to like the cheaper glove. And either the entry level or high end gear. But now the mid line is much better fitting and more popular than its been since I started selling Thor.
I personally wear Thor a mix of all the lines of gloves ( the mid end and entry level gear since I'm too big to get in the high end stuff) , the Alpinestars Thermo Shielder in cold or wet weather, Five brand MX gloves in good conditions since I only have 1 pair , I do not remember the model. I think MXF or MXpro. I was a dealer for them and my customers that are really picky prefer them over ANY other brand glove. Both customers have tried every other brand and they will only wear the Five gloves. Five gloves have been the best fitting gloves that feel comfortable like a well broken glove the first time You put them on. They are expensive compared to the other brands, but they last well and are worth the money!
I honestly do not know how many pairs of gloves I have. I've grabbed so many off the shelf when I need a pair quick . So I have a lot of gloves . If You can find a shop with 5 gloves try them and You will love them.
The palms on the model I wear are made with a polyester that is super durable like a leather. Feels like an older glove that is broken in and super comfortable right away and even after washing. The material also gets grippy when it gets wet. I've only seen it used in 1 other brand's wet weather glove. The material was invented in Japan and Five had a 3 year or so exclusive right to using it. That was 7 ish years ago. I'm surprised there are not more gloves using the material now.
Hard to get through a post without at least one ignorant ahole making an idiotic comment, and by definition, they won't understand why it was so ignorant.
I made a small hand joke, light hearted in intent.
Comment of the year.
