I can totally see not wanting to spend 5 secs talking or BSing with an elite motocross pro...especially when I can spend that time chatting with a relative or friend that I see everyday...just because I eat, sleep breathe and live motocross, why in the hell would I want to spent 5 secs with Savatgy?! I'd much rather spend 10 mins posting about his lack of appreciation for the sport, then check back periodically throughout the day to see peoples responses to my opinion, than spend 5 secs around him.Dry

He has always seemed to have a bit of an entitled attitude that comes off as whiney to me. But honestly, did anyone really expect him to be a top 5 or better guy? I think he is fitting into the pack exactly where he belongs.

Same with Tyler Bowers.

I wouldn't call him uber-unappreciative, he just wants more and he's had some mechanicals and bike set-up issues. He's fast as hell and wants to be up front. Coming off those injuries he's obviously put in the work and just wants more. Would much rather see pure honesty than someone faking their feelings to protect an image.

I've sort of gone back and forth on my opinion of him (like when we used to see him on the 250 podium and he looked like someone had just shot his dog), but I think now he is trying to be transparent and give real answers, which I respect. And like he says, he's beaten most of the guys that are up front, he is Suzuki's lead 450 guy, I'm sure he places a lot of expectations on himself.

I think he set the bar a little too high for himself early on and the Jeannie influence broke him.

Not a Joey hater, but I thought the caption they chose for this photo was pretty funny, lol

I thought the same til I saw him in the team Fried Australia videos. If guys like El Hombre and RC want to hang out with him, he can't be that bad.

I like to hear the ins and outs of a cats arse, it gives a true indication of their struggles and reasons behind their results, I like interviews like this a lot.

He's brutally honest and expects better results. He seems to own it, too.

So, uh...yeah, what's the problem?

Does he get to pick his mechanic ? I would think thats not the best way to go having your dad wrench at this level and with him saying how far off the bike is and suspension and not even being close to ready etc I find it hard to believe JGR didnt have good baseline setting for the bike either, its not like they havent been racing on Suzukis for a while.

So the guy hates 7th place finishes. He's not satisfied with not competing for the podium. Hates to loose. Speaks from his heart and tells the truth. Some of you bitches complain if he wins, then complain if he looses. You complain he speaks too much then complain he doesn't say enough. Your critical of Suzuki for being outdated. You criticize JGR as a bad team then turn around and claim the bike is great.
He didn't have to do an interview and he could have just blown the usual smoke, my bike is great, my Dunlop tires really hooked up. People get depressed or frustrated with the lack of success. He hears these critical statements. I'm glad he's back racing. He makes the races better.

He's riding for Suzuki's Factory-level team, on a bike that, arguably, has the most set-up history on the track. The team HAS to be willing to test and try to do anything he wants to try. Honest question: Is Joey a bad test rider, who can't set up a bike? If the bike is not set up like he wants it, and he's on a factory-level team, who do you point fingers at?

Joey seems cool, just seems like he is being honest with how he feels. I think his biggest issue is his crashes/injuries. Even going back to the 250 days he always had good speed but would always have small crashes and they eventually catch up to him either with results or an injury.

He made a big mistake sitting out the Utah SX rounds. He needed to come out swinging outdoors with all his prep and he hasn't.

He says he can't point to a single positive thing from the season, then mentions he ran third at RedBud for six laps. If that's not something positive to build from then I don't know what is.

He sounds like one of those people that keep talking to try and dig themselves out of a hole, but just makes it worse.

Big injury, long lay off, a little race rusty. That's all there is to it. Instead he's blaming the bike and team throughout that interview.
