What are your qualifications. Hopefully a little more than taking a weekend “personal trainer” course. I see some of the out of shape “trainers” at my gym and really wonder.

They are a good source of energy due to the high content of glucose (sugars). The high levels of potassium will help with muscle contractions. This is why most people say they will help with arm pump.

Pretty much like gummy worms.

Kidding, but why stay away from refined sugars?

You want to shoot for both. Endurance is a major factor in the sport but you also need the strength for bike control. Focus on long cardio sessions like rowing, cycling, or running for endurance. Anything where you can elevate your heart rate and maintain for a prolonged period of time. For strength training we highly recommend circuit style training. It is a good idea to throw some compound lifts in as well (Squats, deadlifts, glut bridges, etc). This will help build your lean muscle mass and gives you better bike control.

New studies are coming out to show that refined sugars are actually leading to large amounts of inflammation. If consumed over a prolonged period of time it can lead to quicker fatigue and pain in points.

Pixie stix. Should I be taking these between motos? Snort or eat them, which is the quickest delivery method for the benefits provided?

Sprints are good for weight loss and your fast twitch muscle fibers. This will also increase the effectiveness of your nervous system. Long distance running will target your overall endurance and cardiovascular system. I would suggest a combination of both.

I would stay away from the pixie sticks and go for some fruit.

How about grip strength endurance? I don’t get arm pump, but after 10min or so of moto sprints I start to lose strength and have a hard time holding on. Yes, I grip hard with my knees, stretch my hands out over jumps to relax them, lean into the acceleration and back when braking. Cardio is good as well, 30 min motos are also not a problem if I back it down a notch. Normally my 30 min motos are about 3 seconds slower than my sprints and all my lap times stay within 1-2 seconds the entire moto.

Diet is ok, not the greatest, but not the worst. I also drink about a gallon of water with Himalayan salt a day so hydration isn’t the concern either.

Are you asking why you can’t go your sprint speed for 30 min?

Serious question. I have AML Leukemia and am on Xospata (Chemo), Dr says no exercise because a major side effect is Tendon issues. What easy on tendon exercises could I sneak in . Dr is not helpful at all. Kicked stage 4 Lymphoma, gonna kick Leukemia, then the over 60 class will be next. Bad subject for Drs... I need exercise to help with depression at least!! Thanks for any help...

You might try pull up bar hangs. Find you a pull up bar (fatter the better) and hang from it. Try and shoot for about 2 min at a time. Go for 3-4 sets. Also deadlifts with a conventional grip help with grip strength also. There are a number of workouts that can help with grip strength that I didn't list. If you want a little more info just email us at whiteflagfitness@gmail.com and we can maybe send you a few videos and workouts that will help.

I would focus more on a Calisthenic based program and work on mobility. Body weight is your best friend. This will keep the blood flowing to the muscles and maintain the muscles mass you already have. The mobility work will keep you limber and once you have recovered you will be setup to attack a harder program. I would stay away from straining the body to much right now until you are on the backside of the recovery. Good luck and keep us updated on your progress. We have a feeling you will be putting the hurt on the over 60 class soon.

Thanks so much for a serious answer. Totally makes sense and should keep me motivated and out of bed.. Calisthenics and mobility are all I need to hear. I can work on that with light stretching. You just gained a fan. I'm starting in the morning. Easy does it. #happymotoing, jere Smile Cool

Since everyone is busting your balls I might as well join in.

Marty had "White Flag Fitness" last night but Cooper and Eli had checkered flag fitness. Do you know their trainers?

It has been proven that weight lifting will help boost testosterone. Specifically resistance training. Also sleep and diet plays a big role in levels as well. Make sure that you get at least 7 1/2 to 8 hours a night. Try and eliminate all refined carbs and sugars out of your diet. Go to more of a whole foods style diet. You can us a testosterone boost on the market. If your levels truly are low it will help. The thing about test boosters is that if your levels are normal it wont technically boost them higher. I would recommend the Sixstar nutrition Test booster. I know that it is one of the cheapest on the market and you can get it at walmart. Sixstar has been third party tested to be one of the most pure and clean of all banned substances. If you do take one really pay attention to you overall energy and not your libido. All test boosters will have ingredients that will boost libido, but not all are actually effective on boosting test.

Love your outlook brother, keep kicking ass. I would think swimming or light cycling. Maybe talk to a real physical therapist for some direction.
