Well, since they threw his IG post out there on live national TV, he's gonna have to follow through. I honestly don't know what to think. But his post comes across as a pretty bold statement that in my opinion, he's going to have to back up. I would hope that after posting, he has the training and practice in place to put forth a serious effort, if not I feel that this is not likely to unfold as he's hoping. You'd think there'd been some footage of him riding/training, but nothing so far. Frankly, I'd rather him be 100% forthcoming of his plans and details, or just say nothing and show up and do it.
Guess we'll know in a few weeks.

Like I said. Go back and watch it. Watch the helmet cam. And watch his head actually hit the ground.

He was out straight away and for a good moment.

Now put that in the context of someone who has had multiple impacts similar to that... And ask yourself if seeing him do a few more laps and another head hit us really worth it.

Gotta love how the experts know that James' head can't take another hit, yet there has been absolutely zero medical evidence that anybody here has seen or heard indicating that James will have major problems if he suffers another concussion. These Vital Stewart experts just know everything.

This right here...there isn't one shred of evidence that he has been preparing for 2017 Supercross. Guess what, the 20 guys that made the main last night have been busting their asses since the last gate drop last year. How does he expect to be even remotely competitive if he hasn't been trying HARD? I guess what I don't understand is, what does expect to prove? That he can still qualify? IMO he'll be lucky to be a consistent top ten guy? Will that make a past SUPERSTAR/CHAMP happy? Regardless I do enjoy watching him ride and seeing the INSANE things he does on a bike, but I'd much rather see him be REAL about what he expects. He will not win a race this year. Most likely never again. If he podiums again I would be surprised. James please make yourself HAPPY, because in all actuality not one single opinion of OURS matters.
Do you really think he plans on coming back to racing, but isn't going to prepare at all? Seriously? Insert stupid joke about last season how he didn't come in prepared. Of course that was due to other circumstances outside of his control, but the Stewart naysayers obviously don't care about that part. Do some of you seriously think an in shape James Stewart is going to ride around in tenth place? Wow.

Wtf.

Goto YouTube and search James Stewart crash.

Now count how many times he positively smashed himself and took a head knock....

He's not some alien, impervious to the trauma from concussion or its long term effects.

In no way am I a JS7 hater. On many levels, I dig this cat, and I kinda like his lil' bruh (minus some of the social media drama -- sign o' the times, I guess). I don't know what's going on with mind, body, or spirit...but I do know as former D1 athlete, if you're not training, you better believe the competition is.

At the same time I also recognize, to this very day and even at the ripe old age 51, it's hard to let go of competing, winning, and what I once possessed physically. I still participate in club ball (Lax and football), and still dream of glorious moments -- and still get pissed when I don't play (or race) as well as I thought I should've. For some people that crazy inner drive will always be there (mad respect for Reedy) no matter how old they get. Truth though -- there's no going back in time.

I know what I would do if I were JS7 (hint: KW, RC), but I'm not him. Wish him (and his family) the best on whatever he decides to do. Just hope he gets out safely.

There is a lot of truth to that.

If anybody doubts the long term effects, I strongly recommend watching "Concussion".
I know MX is not NFL but a human body can only take so much.

I love the people that will bash JS7 for his past and what he is trying to put together for the future. Anybody think he is doing this for his brother maybe ? Seems the same people that love the effort of Trey Canard can kind of put them together for all the injuries they have suffered in the past.

We do know he's taken far more knocks and concussions than any Doctor would be happy with...

And he is human.

So you know.

CTE is no joke and it doesnt discriminate. Plus, it's beginning to hit closer to home, like Mirra.

There is allot of info out now to prove that CTE is very real. Losing Dave Mirra should be a wake up for our sport. It doesn't take a doctor to know James has had more than his fair share of head hits by now. No we don't know the exact state of his brain and health but as fans we have watched him knock himself silly many times. Ping even mentioned it kinda recently on Pulp I believe. I think it was Ping who brought up the question of how many times can one person pile drive into the ground head first before there's some kind of long term effects? Doesn't seem like his heart and focus is all there since the WADA suspension and to come back now would be a train wreck IMO. Its sketchy. Last year he came in overweight and a shell of his former self on the track. Timing off and looked ready to stack it up at any moment. That's when bad stuff happens. You gotta be %100 all in and focused. He should hang up the boots and be glad to walk away as one of the sports greatest and most respected racers ever. Nothing left to prove you will always be a champ JS7. An amazing career

Interesting talk about JS7 but the really interesting thing is that proves the point no one on this post/ page knew what JS7 plans were before he posted on his FB page the other day! No one even knows what bike he is riding and I've said it before he and his crew have done a excellent job of keeping all in for those the that needed to know! I'm sure his contracts were fulfilled let's just wait and Cheer for the guy when he lines up not everyone lives in the matrix! Some unplug when needed! I commend the Stewart's for be silent! Lmao the Stewart's were so good at taking care of this issue that the so called industry insiders didn't even know! Lol especially Reed!!

I love how people who know fuck all post shit! Maybe what you said was true, maybe he is in the shape of his life? How in the hell would you know? If the guy wants to race it's his business. Last year he dealt with a concussion all year & could not run the pace. If he is in shape & his head is clear, he won't be fighting for a 10 place. That's what people fail to understand. Will he come out & win? Maybe not but he can run top 5 if he is prepared. Opinions are like ass holes, everyone has one! I'm an RV fan & would love to see him come race a few rounds too

Muhammad Ali died from Parkinson's disease not from CTE

BANG! Thank you for putting this nonsense to an end.

Hopefully nobody else will hit Stewart on the track, or he might get HIV or cancer.
Seriously WTF?! I guess dude forgot to do his research before putting Ali's name up.

See I don't think his weight last year was an issue, GuyB, I'm pretty sure it was him at least said in an interview that James had been to a Doc or nutritionist and it was a conscious decision... He thought he'd been underweight in his Aldon years and it might have led to some sickness or something?

To me, last year, he looked sketchy as fuck every time on the bike... Even A1 practice and heats. James rides like an asshole anyways, so even though it's fast it's often full of moments, but he was clipping, long, short... yikes.

I still say he goes and gets his very first suzuki settings and just rides that. 2012 outdoors after he switched, he never looked better on a bike to me... Maybe not lights out quick, but in control, and riding just in front of Dungey. That's a good thing!

See how everyone's rooting for Deano as a privateer? We'd all love to see the Stewart Brothers privateer team out there racing. What makes no sense (quite apart from the frustrating media blackout) is how long this takes to put together. They've both had like 7 months to get the van loaded up. Why would San Diego, or A2 or whenever be any easier to prepare for than A1? I'm not sure there is much of a privateer team plan at all. More like still waiting for a call from a factory team,...

I guess time will tell, did I ruffle your feathers bro? Do you feel the need to come on and defend James every time someone says he may not win? I mean my intentions were not to crucify James for anything other than dragging everyone along like a teenage girls soap opera. Either race or don't, quit talking shit and do something.
