I mean yea I would like for it to be at Glen Helen. But seriously who else is sick of watching Luango rake in all the money while raking everyone else over the coals.

Screw Giseppie

For a race that is not supposed to be all about the money, it's even more all about the money

If the MXON will go to a other country (There's a big rumour about Matterly Basin) I strongly feel like the USA team should boycott the 2017 MXON. Being in the disadvantage over 6 years should allow for a American MXON in my opinion. Team USA not attending the MXON will be a big blow to the MXON, lets be honest the biggest battle on track is EUROPE vs USA.
Also i dont think that the attendance would be that bad its the MXON, For instance UK fans travelled to Maggiora thats over a 1000 km's. Why wouldn't americans from all over the country make the trip to Glen hellen? Oke not that many Europeans will be there but there aren't that many Americans at the European races....

Big blow... I really hope they keep the event in the USA for 2017!!

I have just had a very reliable source tell me that it is going to be hosted in the uk. The source comes from very high up in the British motocross industry. It will be at matterly.

Gutted, was really looking forward to the trip.
Why don't they put the tickets on sale, see the initial interest , if it looks good go ahead, if not , refunds all round !

Was gonna make a massive road trip AND bring about a dozen goons. Oh well, make it Red Bud then and I'll quit sobbing.

I think this forum got canceled for a minute there. Haha.
But yeah this sucks. MxdN 2017 has to be in states, imo. Millville, Red Bud of Unadilla would be my favourite choices.

That sucks, was planning on taking my 80 year old Dad to witness the best of the best. He and I have been moto fans for over 40 years. Not much time left for these opportunities. I'm sad.

Trust me guys. It's not in the states. It's going to be in England. My source comes from someone who got asked to fund the event. What better source would you want...

Matti pretty much sums it up for me .

jeezus .... free tickets and 40 mins away , I would have gone to watch Herlings and Tomac run two practice sessions on the track by themselves . I cant really blame Glen Helen for pulling the plug when I see posts like this . California = poser fans .
oh vital. Stay classy. That post was posted elsewhere with 100% positive response and here it's 100% negative with being called an idiot, a poser fan, and seems a few who can't read.

My life is based around motocross and the industry and I'm not a poser fan by any means. It was pushing 95, had half a gate in MX and 2 championships were wrapped up, there wasnt really any reason to go. I spent money and drove 30 min on Friday and raced go carts block passing the likes of Seewer, Tiga, anstie for fun but that had more appeal than the racing and the terrible turnout it was going to be. No friends, not as much competition, and terrible atmospher. Let's just say I would PAY to go to the MXON no matter what the temperature, as I have for the Nationals every year, but this race had less appeal as shown by the attendance. Mid season GP with full attendance? Id be there no doubt. But maybe I'm just a spoiled American Tongue

But call me an idiot or not a true fan I'm telling you the reason I didn't go and why it didn't appeal to many Californians and didn't pull from states away like the national or supercrosses even.

Matterly was the first one that came to my mind as a replacement. It's logical since they need a big venue quickly that can handle it on a short notice. It just is the one place that makes most sense. Even though I think it should still be in USA next year, I doubt it will happen.

Classic. You take the temperature part from the post and that's your only reply from it. That's the smallest factor there. Sorry I'm not a weekend warrior vet that travel the world to watch just another race.

Do any of you really blame Youthstream!!?? This is the biggest event of the year and it is gaining mass appeal inside and out of the sport because of the crazy Woodstock type environment and mental MX fans from every nation. The Glen Helen GP and it's attendance has obviously scared the powers that be and they do not want to lose the momentum the last two massively attended MXoN's has created.

I do think it will be in the US, I think Youthstream knows they need the USA's involvement and taking yet another MXoN away will not help that. I would love to see it at Red Bud, but I'm hearing whispers that Charlotte Motor Speedway is a strong possibility.
That is quite ironic, because Charlotte Motor Speedway is the one track I wouldn't make an effort to go see MXoN at next year. I can watch on my computer if that's how Luongo wants to do it.

Haha why shouldnt they go? This is a business, all involved want to make money. Not LOSE money!

This has nothing to do with the organisers not wanting to race Glen helen, they just cant risk a crowd not showing up.

An MXDN race would definitely draw more attendance then their MXGP series when theres only 20 riders on the gate and every year besides this year they get our B riders. GL is a real piece of work.

If no US track wants to arrange mxon what are they suppose to do? Skip it completely?

And they say our riders and teams arent making any money by doing the MXDN so why should they go? If tomac was going to make a 100k by racing the MXDN do you think he would have said no? GL doesnt pay any kind of purse for THE biggest motocross race of the year and thats totally ridiculous.

Have you guys ever seen the national at red bud? Its wild and packed as hell every single year.

I imagine a MXON would pull at least 50K people.

Also you think our guys have an advantage at GH (a GP style track) imagine the dominance at red bud which is more like a National Track then any other track I would say.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO RED BUD. ITS ONLY a 4 HOUR DRIVE FOR ME!!!!

Exactly. If Luongo's business decision is to have the rider's race for national pride alone with no compensation/purse, then it is completely OK for the US Team (and frankly every single other nation's team) to say no thanks.

Yep, said it in the other thread. Luongo should take one of the chin once a year and just take expenses for this event and put all the profits back into the teams attending. Shouldn't be any promoters fee, he can have some of the gate for his first class airplane ticket...

I live in the UK and i am properly pissed off about this. For over ten years now, myself and friends have travelled to the MXON including two in the States and have looked forward to the Glen Helen event for three years now. When we heard these rumours at Maggiore over the weekend, our hearts sank ! I am even more disappointed that it appears to be going to Matterley. The track is good but the weather will be extremely unpredictable (i was at the GP this summer and it pissed down) and the amount of Chavs and thieves it attracts is not good. Gutted !

Isn't this the 2nd time it was moved from Glen Helen? I thought I remember it was supposed to be there around 2012 or so cause I was trying to talk my nephew into going. Then it was moved to 2017 and now gone again. Oh well, maybe someday I will be able to make one in Europe...Agree what someone else said, bring it to the Argentina track, that place looks epic.

I feel exactly the same.

An MXdN at Glen Helen would have been incredible, but I can somewhat understand them all losing confidence in the idea.
