I still like visiting Family and Friends of my Home state but I was getting tired of the Rush Hour traffic and that was 33 freaking years ago!
It's much worse now on so many different levels and it's a bummer to see.
But if this isn't the final nail in the coffin!

If not my mistake...
Being that the moto scene out there has improved and it's close enough to CA that I can visit the tracks if I miss them.
I can't wait. This state is an absolute nightmare to live in if you make under $60k a year. Looking forward to actually being able to afford a house 😂
im looking to get out of cali also.. tired of getting 40-50% of my paycheck taken from me.
The Shop
If true, we would have 35 years (that's THIRTY FIVE!!!!) to iron out a few details. There is really no reason to panic....
Yeah, that’s a take I’ve never heard before...
1. Traffic...the freeways are crowded. But, the drivers are fast, aware and pretty damn courteous. (compared to most of the country, especially here in the plains states).
2. If you aren't in a gawdawful hurry there are secondary/backroads that are in excellent condition and offer an eye opening view of rural CA you just won't get at 80 mph on the big roads.
3. The state is full of hard ass working people...working those crazy big ass fields in the central valley...working 3 jobs to support a small business that is their dream...hustling to afford the insane prices for everything. They damn sure ain't afraid of work.
4. The rest of the country needs a lesson from California on diversity inclusion/acceptance. Everyone knows there are a lot of Spanish/Asian Americans in CA....but there are folks from just about everywhere....everywhere you go. And they're GETTING along. Their kids play together, their dogs play together...the price of welcome seemed to be a smile and a laugh.
5. I'm not stupid or blind...I did see poverty, homeless, trash...but not nearly as much as I expected. California is not paradise but it doesn't suck.
6. Lastly, the Pacific Ocean is cold as f$@k. I expected cold water up north but I wrongly expected San Diego to be like bath water. Hell no...like 2 degrees warmer....Destin it ain't. But, I'd trade it in a heartbeat for this Kansas winter that's on the way.
Probably not Seattle, it rains everyday here.
I know, I didn't answer your question.
I will be riding my plated 2 stroke here in Idaho in 2035 unless the rapture happens.
Pit Row
I still luv to visit as it has many beautiful places to visit.
But in the last 20 years or so it's too expensive to live there and the traffic is no longer Rush Hour it can be anytime even on weekends.
That and the policies and now you won't be able to buy a new Motorcycle in 15 years.
That's why I created this thread.
This is a Motorcycle forum isn't it?
Not arguing or trying to start a war just thought it was some important info.
Don't shoot the Messenger...
Although... I do like upper AZ, Utah and Idaho.
I’m kinda stuck here until I retire, there’s not enough Motion Picture Industry in these states to make a living. But Idaho seems to be my choice to settle in after I’m done working. I have never gotten too deep into politics, but with our current situation in our country, I’ve been blind to the Politics of California for too long. I can afford to retire here and I may end up not leaving, but I plan on traveling and am going to do some extended stays to see if I could handle moving. Born and raised here, it won’t be an easy thing to do, all my family is here and being single, I just can’t see myself doing g it on my own.
I see the way of life in other states and am very Envious of the lifestyles that I missed out on. A whole different way of living that I wish I was a part of !
Texas has some crazy property taxes, from what I hear. In California I am currently protected with Prop 13. I’d feel different if I was paying taxes on $700K (current appraised value), versus $168K (purchase price in 1992)
If these idiots get rid of this, I’ll be forced to leave and join the others leaving...
Gonna be a Dental Floss tycoon
(yes I am)
Movin' to Montana soon
Gonna be a mennil-toss flykune
I do know a shit ton of people who have moved or are moving out of the state though.. mostly Idaho, Washington, Texas.
