Eli had the pass probably but it would have been a bit risky if he held it on with Zach coming over on him...once he backed off and then got a little out of control he decided that was enough it seems. Still nice seeing him go for it again. Horrible start and he was at least 11 seconds down at one point. As someone else just said, he makes the race much more interesting.

He was back and forth between his motorhome and the team rig a few times after Spring Creek while I waited for AC. We talked after RedBud Two, he was upfront and stated that he’s not getting starts and isn’t running a pace that’s faster than anyone else. Everyone acts like Eli doesn’t have anything to say or is reclusive, and while that second part is true, he’s willing to be open when asked. He straight up said that he doesn’t have the speed right now. What else do you expect him to say? He’s not going to tell everyone...

The difference between Stu and the other guys is his wrist injury the year after winning Xc2. I don’t remember if he had the bone removed or all 5 bones forged together. The same injury caused Charlie Mullins to retire and many others. Stu was screwed over by Sherco. There is more to the story than can be put on a message board. A healthy Stu and he and KR split a few championships. Stu and Mullins were KRs only real competition.

The moto media very rarely ask any hard hitting questions aimed directly at the riders. Just the same handful of questions rephrased. Matthes is the only one willing to make lose a few friends.

Doubt it. They rarely ask pertinent questions any more for fear of being blackballed. But it’s ok, we always find out that their Dunlop’s hooked up great off the start and they’ve never felt better with the bike after working a few things out..🙄

Do you think anyone in the media actually had access to Tomac? From all reports Kawasaki is pretty militant with their COVID restrictions and will not let anyone too close. The guy is already reclusive, now he can be completely unreachable on race day. Doubt he's answering texts from Matthes, GuyB, Donn, Anton, etc either.

These are the kinds of injuries that make even the best riders reconsider continuing to race at that level, I'm quite sure. I hope Herlings can...and will choose to come back after time to heal and recover, but I certainly wouldn't blame him if he called it quits. Our sport is brutal.

Google search shows net worth of 10 million. To me it looks like he has too much money tied up into fancy homes. On top of all that he spends some serious $$$$ on his kids racing career. I don't think he's sitting as pretty as many of you think.

To be fair, moto has a tremendously bad “journalist” history. Everyone is friends due to the size of the industry. When RCH was acquiring factory Suzuki support, i mentioned it in a thread and was immediately called out and told I was wrong. Funny thing was the info was heard first hand by Kenny Watson. I don’t doubt what Mxa posted. But i am certain they are going to be getting hit hard for it
