11/17/2024 5:24am Honorable decision my man. I would have done the same but my kid wanted to ride/race too. We do all the stick and ball stuff but squeeze in 1-2 race weekends a month. One thing I like about the off-road racing scene is there is a real sense of community esp around the kids program. All the parents help out...

I turn 65 next March. Got my Medicare card in the mail last week.🙄 Pissed me off because I'm not old...in my mind.😂 But I CAN tell a distinct difference in my skills vs when I was in my 40's and early 50's. My days of lining up on my modern bike are probably over but I'll continue to vintage race. I've been at it for 54 years now. As long as I ride within MY limits and stay away from spodes who won't I'll continue to have fun.

If you feel sketchy about moto, maybe try an enduro. Theres alot of varied terrain and a few hrs of ride time. Go as fast or slow as you want. Lots of fun and laid back atmosphere.

11/16/2024 4:48pm Seems like the Japanese where smart to keep their air-cooled lines. There a lot be said for the simplicity, durability, and practicality of these lines. I’d be willing to bet they sell more trail bikes than race bikes but could be wrong

11/16/2024 4:38pm 54 now racing Hare Scrambles and absolutely love it - grew up in MX and called it at 35. I took 15 yrs off bikes and got back in at 50. I wish I could get those 15 yrs back and had started racing off road. I know this is predominantly a MX group but I’ll tell you off road...

KTM would alienate their biggest consumer base if they stopped making xc/f models and let husky do it. Enduro models is what first made them popular in the US. Obviously the way they did it isn’t working either but they couldn’t give up enduro models under the ktm tent.

This!!!! I do feel like they could have used Husqvarna to be like the off-road brand. Make all of the XC. XCW and EXE lines white and roll with it. But the way they did it, they were just eating their own. Never made sense, add to it the red bike and it really makes me scratch my head. KTM had such a good thing going and they had to go screw it all up. To the point made above, I really doubt many people were like, "I'm kinda done with Honda, and no way in hell will I ride...

The bottom line is energy. Energy costs have skyrocketed along with interest rates laying waste to everything in its path along with inflation at least here in America. With some luck we might see some easing and recovery in the next couple of years, but it will take some time for the tide to go back out.
