One day two summers ago, I drove nearly 3 hours to meet some friends at a track. When I got there, I have to admit that I was a little intimidated by all the big jumps and lack of prep and flaggers. As I was unloading my bike, I saw a guy crash and then get landed on by the next guy to come over the jump. At that point, I loaded my bike back up, got my practice fee refunded, and drove home. That is what responsible people do when they don’t think a track is safe. They don’t...

I think what makes me equally as upset is the people that are defending him that are supposed to be our media. We have ML, and Matthes (2 of biggest media figures in the sport) all trying to control the narrative when the story dropped and even going as far as to lie by omission for RT. You are the people that should be telling us news like this, not lying and helping to cover up. I'll give ML credit, at least he didn't delete the original thread, but he did try to steer the narrative and cast aspersions on...

Great statement and explanation, just falls short, there is no expectation of normal injury or beyond the norm injury, I belive paperwork for years states: injury and or death can be the result, that's as final as it can get Death. You are given the right to ride the track, inspect and reject and i guess you didn't. Lawsuit is unacceptable.

So basically the wavers we all sign at the track when we sign up are useless?

I had an experience like that @ GH back in 02 or 03 at a Loretta qualifier I think or maybe it was a GFI race, but I was trying to make a pass on the outside of the corner at the top of the first hill and ended up going just a tad too wide off the drop off and ended up like a foot off the graded section and hit a huge boulder with my back tire that sent me OTB all the way down the hill. Got absolutely wrecked with multiple injuries. The boulder actually came out...

hard to be on the Taylors side when it happened in the second moto. That means their son did one or two practices, and a first moto, and the track was safe enough for them at that time. You can't have it both ways, either the track was too dangerous to ride, so you packed your things, or you felt the track was safe enough to keep racing.

So yea I read this as a statement justifying why he sued the track, regardless of them signing a waiver to ride and willingly suiting up to race on it. We ALL know the risks when suiting up and even before that when we have made the decision of where we are going to ride. How about these families that have lost their kids @ some of these major amateur nationals? I remember watching a kid crash and die @ mini o's because of a kicker they left on the big triple step up they used to have that many...

If the track was too dangerous for them, they didn’t need to enter the race. There are doubles and triples on tracks that I think are too dangerous. I don’t jump them. If there are trees (or a hill) on the back side of a berm and I want to be sure I don’t go over it, I take the inside line. Just like everything else in life, threats are lurking everywhere. Part of winning is knowing when the risk outweighs the reward. Glad to hear that the Taylors could cash in on a bad choice. I literally just ordered...

This is some shady shit. You can see almost the entire track from the parking lot and if it was “unsafe” Rich should have pulled the plug as the consenting adult for the minor. Pretty shitty Rich.

As a parent, it is YOUR responsibility to decide whether or not to let YOUR child race on a track. I am assuming there were many racers that day of the race, not to mention many practice riders months in advance. Many tracks have dangerous areas on and off the track. It is part of what this sport is. I feel bad for his sons injuries but X Brand goggles will no longer be in my gear bag .This is my personal choice just like it was RT's choice to sue.

So he sued a track. The important part of the claim was accurate. That’s inexcusable to me. He was at the track if he felt it wasn’t safe he shouldn’t have let his kid race. Period. This should be the beginning of the end for x brand.

So just to be clear... The Taylor's filed the suit, not the insurance company. And these statements are attempting to justify this because of a dangerous condition on the track that was not fixed, but everybody raced on it anyways?

The quicker you guys learn that RDL is a pre-race show and not a qualifying broadcast, the quicker you’ll have a better time. It’s been this way since its inception, I doubt it’s going to change.

This is much longer than I anticipated. However, if you have any interest in visiting the GCL, hopefully, it’s worth the read. A big thanks to the Vital members that suggested visiting – it was an incredible trip! For those that feel it’s TLDR, skip ahead and enjoy some photos. … On 9/20/21, I started the thread " Does a Dude Ranch for Moto-Guys Exist?" At that time, I think I was probably burning through episodes of Yellowstone and infatuated with the scenery of the West. I was intrigued by the idea of a ranch-type moto vacation spot, and several...

Only thing on two wheels that should be postponed due to rain is the TT/Macau. Otherwise the boys need to get after it.
