Eli has a seat at the table of the American greats, but he will never sit in the Kings throne and that is no slight towards him. If James could have kept it together when RC finally retired, he may have been the person to make a run. JS had a window of opportunity with the competition he faced post Carmichael to be as dominate as RC outdoors and MC indoors but it didn't materialize for various reasons.

As mentioned above, use a pipe wrench. A 14” pipe wrench should work fine on removing that cap. Just make sure the teeth on it are clean and, sharp. If not, it may slip. Might be worth the $30 to purchase a new one. Go with steel. Way cheaper than an aluminum wrench. Coming from a plumber lol.

Instincts are about the easiest to throw on new and feel comfortable. Tech 7s were close but not quite. No idea how them guys do it with gaernes and tech 10s. I hated the feel of new tech 10s so bad i wore them for one practice session then bought tech 7s. I was a long time instinct wearer before that and only switched because of stigmas of wearing fly gear n fox boots lol..

I think Sexton is the sleeper, which is a funny thing to say about the defending champ, but there doesn’t seem to be much of a spotlight on him. Unlike last year when he was blindingly fast, this year he’s sneaky fast and playing the long game.

Throw MC out of the window, I'd like to see if anyone else tops Eli's win total. Breaking 50 wins is a tough shot for anyone that's out there today or coming up from the 250's.. First thing that I thought of with the Jett hoopla and 72, how about getting in the same win zip code as the current guys out there racing against you first.

I agree he doesn't mind the money and is motivated by the wins but if you think he's motivated to hang around to try and get the record, you haven't been following this or him. Let's be realistic here!! We are talking 22 wins. 22 more wins in this current period of the sport. With this field and the way the sport is it's a long shot. Especially for a guy who's said he's about done. I'm a huge Tomac fan. love everything about him. Maybe he will win 10 events this year and win the title and come back...

I can't believe this is even a topic. If the fluke injury didn't happen to Tomac last year he would have had another SX championship and we probably would not see him this season. He probably would have retired. HIS WORDS. Last year left a bad taste in his mouth. He's one of the highest paid in the sport. That doesn't' matter to him. He has a lot of titles, wins and podiums. That's not what fuels him. And he certainly is not in it for fame or attention. He wants to go out on his own terms. Win or...

As a big time Tomac fan I say no. If he gets 60 I will be shocked and pumped...I believe this is his last year though.

First time in Jett's 450 career that I've seen him with a good amount of time to make up a realistic gap on the rider in front of him & couldn't get it done - really speaks to the speed Eli was riding at. Eli also pulled out a 4 sec gap on Sexton in the matter of like 3 laps. Super impressive.

I can’t remember the last time I’ve been so happy to see a rider just immediately gap everyone first lap and ride away.
