Its here and there. Ive had no issues at 20 hours on my 26 TF450X, others especially last years RC Editions still seem to have issues even with recalls.

There isn’t a single successful boomer I know, that’s genuinely successful and not just posturing, that has any problem admitting that making the kind of money that allows you to build real wealth, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance while doing so, is much harder to do today than say 25 years ago. Not impossible but definitely much more difficult. Things have changed. It’s just a different world. Hard work and honesty don’t pay like they used to. Which is unfortunate for all of us. I live in New England for frame of reference.

Oh yeah, well my parents walked... because they were still waiting for the wheel to be invented. And their parents were too busy inventing dirt to take a honeymoon - but when they got done they made "Do it in the dirt!" bumper stickers. 😄

Just did some digging Average Income in 1990 was 50k, Average Home Proce was 68,000. Average Income in 2025 is 68k, Average Home price is 414k. Yeah, things aren’t the same as they were back in the day.

Common misconception here. The cost of living for the standard of living that is now considered normal is much more expensive than what people would have spent in the past, but they're getting far more in return. The cost to live like your grandmother did back then is still incredibly cheap. Things haven't gotten more expensive as much as we've just been conditioned to think we need more things. This is why there's such a generational disconnect on this issue. Younger people cannot fathom the lives lived by those they call boomers and imagine them living the relatively comfortable life...

Ok Boomer, back in “Your” day cost of living to income ratio was drastically different and you could actually do that. Heck my grandma, was a hair stylist who bought rentals and retired off of them eventually. A lot harder, and sometimes not even possible these days.

You're right, because the RM must have felt better than the CR. MC: spent his entire life/career on a steel frame, gets on an alloy frame, doesn't feel comfortable to ride at full pace, does a couple of off season races and just can't ride it, quits and gets back on another steel frame. Prado: spent his entire life/career on a steel frame, gets on an alloy frame, doesn't feel comfortable to ride at full pace and rides out the season at below full effort as to not crash, quits and gets back on a steel frame. I'm not at...

Ah, but you're talking about engine failure. This thread was talking about maintenance. In 100hrs of normal service, the two stroke has had 3x piston kits. At 100hrs you aren't even thinking about a piston on a 450.

I’m sure there will be the typical “shut up and dribble” type of comments from that interview but he does make some good points with not wanting to come across as an asshole to fans when he’s trying to lock in or focus on the race day. But at the same time, it’s how the sport has always been with how accessible the riders and pits are and that’s what makes it so special and fun for the attendees. I guess that’s why most of these guys lock themselves inside their RV or rig during pit pass time. I’m all...

This is actually a great example as the answer is in the photo you posted. Those are older (10-15 years?) KTM clamps. See if you can find a photo of those same clamps, but from the bottom and it will make more sense. The bottom is hollowed out, with a largely non-sensical rib pattern. People would comment that those old KTM clamps are super stiff, but it was actually just the opposite. Those clamps are absurdly flexy, to the point where the left and right fork tubes become mis-aligned under load and bind up making everything feel harsh. They also...

The most correct answer to your question is maybe. Everyone has a different level of sensitivity and what they want to feel with the bike. Someone that’s super super sensitive to chassis feel will most definitely notice a difference. Someone that isn’t, won’t. Personally, I threw X-Trig ROCS clamps with PHDS mounts on my bike simply to try to reduce handlebar vibrations even more. I didn’t notice much of a difference personally in the front end feel, but I’m not super sensitive to minor chassis adjustments

I can write a book about this, but I'll try to hit the main points… First off, not all aftermarket clamps (or parts in general) are equal. There are few companies making good clamps, a lot of companies making mediocre clamps, and some pushing out rather garbage clamps. Just because it's aftermarket, doesn't necessarily make it better! Now, regarding good triple clamp options, here are the main reasons you might consider them: Geometry Changes This is the obvious one. Changes to the clamp offset can have a significant effect on handling. This varies by bike, rider, conditions, speed, etc., and...

I was extremely skeptical and was like you before testing FCP engine mounts, back-to-back with OEM mounts on the same day. I went out and did 16 laps on the stock mounts, came in and swapped to FCP, and went back out and did 16 more laps. I assumed I wouldn't be able to tell a difference, but boy was I wrong. My suspension felt plusher (the fancy testers call it "bump touch", lol) and lean angle traction was noticeably better (2024 350 SX-F). Average lap time, over 16 laps, was 2 seconds faster on FCP mounts...my mind was blown...
